I absolutely LOVE this ice maker. I'm addicted to 'sonic' ice and makes it in my own kitchen. The only downfall is that it takes a bit longer than I expected to make ice, however I still use it several times a day, every day!!
I would recommend this to a friend!

No words !!! Chewing ice as a result of Pica (chronic anemic) has literally ruled my life since 2004. From running a Sonic to finding the perfect Tom Thumb machine. The nuggets from each machine are different- depends on how much use the machine gets, how clean the machine is, many different things even down to how much air is in the nugget. Once I found the perfect one I settle in. Making friends and visiting my favorite spot daily cooler and cups in hand, driving past 3 places to head to my favorite spot. I like the soft chewy cloudy nuggets. I say all that to tell you ****
after years of trying different machines and reading millions of reviews I bought it
THE GE OPAL 2.0 Nugget ice maker IS THE REAL DEAL it has changed my life!! I have 44 oz cups fill them and fridge them they stay chewable for hours not sure how many because they don’t make it that long I don’t freeze my ice it changes the consistency and it’s too hard to chew. You will not be disappointed!!! I have had it 3 weeks it runs most of the time not loud and priceless.

This has saved my life!!

Refilling ice cube trays is now a thing of the past. This might have just saved my life. Wife told me next time I put a empty ice cube tray back in the freezer she was going to kill me. I bought this and now I don't use Ice Cube trays, and better yet I'm still alive. Now if I can just find a device to lift the toilet seat for me.

Failed Again

This is our third attempt with this ice maker, and the third time we have returned it. This one did not work properly from arrival, so perhaps it was damaged in shipping (although the packaging showed no obvious damage). But given that we have tried two of these before, and they both failed within three weeks, we are inclined to think it is a design issue. Which is a shame because this machine makes our favorite kind of ice, it runs quieter than the non-GE ice maker we have replaced it with, and the side reservoir is great for our large family. But oh-for-three is hard to argue with.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Bad product

Just like everyone else we have had nothing but issues with our machine. Loud noises, constant defrosting etc. I highly recommend not buying the 2.0 until they figure out these design flaws

We bought this and ran through the clean and setup process and it ran fine for 2 cycles of ice and completely stopped working ! It will run and then go into defrost
