Love to have ice 24/7!

Ice is always full and lasts a long time in my cup. I like the fact that it continually fill of ice.I do wish there was a small holder on side to hold ice scoop. Scoop gets wet if you lay it on drip tray and unsanitary to lay it on counter.
Great ice maker. Would recommend it to anyone wishing to have consistent size ice all the time.

The ice maker is great when it works. After only having the unit for 3 months, it stopped making ice. No longevity to this very expensive ice maker.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great product only if it did what it's supposed to

It's only been a month since I bought it. At times it will make the nugget ice but then it is shaved ice most of the time. I have cleaned it 2 times and still shaved ice.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Good but could be better

This a great nugget Ice maker and we love it! But the APP is useless (basically turns on and off light and tells if it is making ice or not...).Also it needs the external water supply needs rethought... The opening sits in the reservoir so every time you need to refill the water you have to handle the part that will be submerged in the reservoir (not very sanitary). There also is no light or any indication of the water level (sure you can seethe level in the clear plastic but it would be great to get some indication the water level is low. Finally would be great if there was a way you could tap right off a water line and not worry about refilling the reservoir. Great ice maker but could be better.

We ordered our Opal 2.0 online. It arrived with seriously sturdy packing and in pristine condition. We had it up and running in about thirty minutes including initial cleaning. Directions were clear and setup could not have been easier. Within another half an hour, we already had a cupful of ice. The ice seems slightly denser than popular restaurant ice but, surprisingly, I think I prefer it. It holds up longer in soda, so less watering down, but still has that satisfying soft crunch. We could not be happier with it. If you are on the fence about this machine, just do it! It is pricey, but compared to it’s commercial counterparts, this is a huge bargain.

It’s Alright

Produces ice, but runs almost 24hrs a day and sounds just a bit quieter than an ice cream maker. Our kitchen is never quiet anymore. Ice is inconsistently melted/refrozen in chunks or expected pellet ice. And 3 days after I plugged it in, the app is told me it needs to be descaled.
Family likes the pellet ice, but I expected a lot more given the price.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The ice compartment for the Opal naturally causes them to melt and is considered normal operation. The ice maker uses a system in which it takes this melted water and reuses it to create new nuggets of ice. Likewise, the temperature of the room in which the Opal is located can also influence the rate at which the ice melts.
Descaling is a normal procedure to take proper care of your unit. To learn more about this process, please refer to page 19 of your Owner's Manual.
