I was introduced to these buy my boss who has several of these at his houses. He bought one for the office and it's so convenient. I've got spoiled to this type of ice with or without a drink all day long. I had to have one for my home!

Didn't Make it to it's 2-Year Anniversary

I bought it, on December 17th 2020, as one of my wife's desired Christmas presents. It was religiously cleaned, and maintained by my wife. Per the manufacturer's instructions. It was great, for 10 months. Then, repeatedly ceased making ice. She'd clean it again. It would work for a day., then stop. The last time, (June 2022), it didn't come back. We were told by GE that they could repair it, for over half, ($) what I'd paid for it. NOPE!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We recommend ensuring the ice bin is pushed all the way in place, resetting the unit by unplugging it for 3-4 hours, and then plugging back in.
If the unit still won't make ice, contact Opal Support at myopalservice.com or call 1-866-907-6718, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM, EST. We're confident they will be able to assist further.

Hard features. Confused with putting water in 2 pc

Well I love the machine but it was a bit confusing to me. Like, putting water in two places. I did everything asked of me for the water tank and it jus wasn’t working correctly.

Love this Ice!

I love the ice, my husband loves it more than I do. Initially, it sounded like a dying cat, but that has mostly gone away. I'm hoping it was just a matter of breaking the machine in. I would love an option to purchase a warranty as I've heard these do break over time, I'm not sure how to do that since it was a gift. I would recommend this product if you love ice cold drinks, it's nicer to use than regular ice with soda because it causes a LOT less fizz.
