Nice size ice

Purchased with external water container - this was a bad idea. The machine consistently says add water, even when full. The container does not have a pop open top to fill - must remove, fill, replace, adjust until flowing. PITA! When it makes ice, it is great ice.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Best ice maker for soft pellet ice

I love my new opal 2.0. I had the previous version which did stop working about a year and a half after I got it, but luckily I had the full replacement insurance which covered most of the cost of the opal 2.0. I would say it is always worth it to get the extra insurance on these as no matter how well you treat them, they are only made to last about a year of continuous use. Using only distilled water will extend the life as long as possible but in the end they all stop working in my experience, though the opal did last the longest of any model I ever had. I have had Oster, Newaire, Mueller, and Solon, plus a few names I never heard of from china and the opal worked longer than all of them. It also has a great design and a gallon side tank so requires less refilling than most other countertop machines.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great ice machine!

I love the shape of the ice and how quickly it makes ice (20 minutes) my only wish is that there was a feature to stop making ice but still keep the current ice in there intact without having to turn off the machine. Other wise I Absolutley love it and use it everyday!

Makes the good ice just like it is supposed to

So far very good. For the price it will need to perform over the long haul. Had one issue with it making a really loud noise that I could hear thru the whole house like a belt slipping. Turned it off overnight and it hasn't made the noise since.
