This was super easy to set up. Connected it to my phone too. Makes a fair amount of ice pretty quickly. Great for drinks of all kinds!!

Quick ice making

Everything is working good so far, but it does make this horrendous sound once the water is emptied out of the bottom. Not sure why it doesn’t fill it up from the reservoir container.

Seriously , , . This is the BEST THING EVER!!! The ice is small and airy . . . Just exactly the kind that we love at our favorite drive in restaurant that rhymes with HONIC *wink*.

AWFUL!!!!

This is our second one. This time we bought a special water filter because we have hard water up where we live. I also bought the GE Opal filter and installed it and we followed the recommended cleaning schedule. After three weeks, it crapped out after doing all these things.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Good improvements

I had the Opal 1 and while good, it had a number of issues with the challenges of keeping it clean and mold free and also with air pockets causing the machine to overheat. I purchased the Opal 2 and found it much better in all regards. Makes ice much faster,
Stays cleaner longer, quieter and doesn’t run constantly. The only thing I don’t like is the control button. For one the placement of “invisible” power button just above the ice container makes it very easy to accidentally turn the machine off when pulling out the ice container. This is awkward and in a busy household easy for the machine to get turned off and then no ice! Otherwise the ice production is terrific and I love it. Price point on these is pretty high and I feel the first one was really a beta machine and very difficult to maintain. Now what do I do with the old machine?

We love our ice machine. It works great and we always have ice on hand now. It recycles the ice if you don’t use it but that has never been a problem for us. There is always ice in the machine in the morning and once you take some it quickly makes more.

I’ve always wanted a ice machine that made nugget ice and I finally got one as a birthday gift! I really really really love it! It makes ice super fast.
