My ice maker in the refrigerator quit working. I eventually replaced it but in the meantime it provided me an excellent opportunity to buy the Opal 2.0. Let me tell you this thing is the bomb. I wish I would have purchased sooner. We use it all day everyday for a family of 5 and let me tell you we have never run out of ice as long as we keep the reservoir and side tank full of water. If you love pellet ice and are tired of your tired ice maker in your fridge then you will not be disappointed by the Opal 2.0

Defective unit

So we’ve been eyeing the Opal for quite some time and finally decided on getting the latest Bluetooth model. Unfortunately for us, the front cover of the unit keeps falling off when We pull open the tray.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Ran cleaning cycles first and has worked flawlessly since. Using reverse osmosis filtered water. Side tank is a must for convenience.
Ice is perfect, just like Sonic, Canes. Chic Filet, etc. Well worth the money.

Love the ice

We love the ice that comes from the opal, it seems like it cools your drink down faster. It also looks great on our counter. The one downside is sometimes after you refill the water thing on the side it won’t suck it in and start making more ice until you open and close the ice drawer.

We use this machine on the daily. We have a ton of allergies in our home so we cannot use city provided water systems so the side tank comes in handy. I would recommend this to anyone.

Great Ice, but a noisy machine

This thing makes amazing nugget ice. We have had one for over a year now and use it pretty much every single day. We enjoy the ice so much that we ended up getting a second one for another location in the house. The only real downside to it is the excessive noise it makes. Under normal circumstances, it makes noise that is somewhat tolerable. When it goes to defrost (seems like almost daily) it gets really loud. If you don't mind the noise it is a great machine.
