The ice is awesome. But sometimes it says to add water when it is full and then doesn't make ice.

Love it Not sure how I ever did without it. Replaced another brand that didn’t make enough ice and didn’t make the softer nugget ice.

"cool" ice maker

This is my third unit. Hear me out. I purchased the very first unit when it was solely "Opal". It worked great for the first year and eventually gave out. I was able to exchange it for another unit via the warranty. That unit lasted 2 years and finally gave out. My wife loves this ice so naturally i gave in and bought the now "GE" nugget ice maker. Great new design and way sleeker look. I've only had it for a few months but seems to be running so much smoother. These devices are a little temperamental so beware. They can tend to be a little noisy for most peoples tastes but this current unit is running quieter for sure. Be advised taking care of the unit is key. Do not let the unit get dirty, ie. hard water, using "spring" bottled water seem to clog the unit and require it to be cleaned more often. One thing i would love for GE to do is upload a "how to" for descaling and cleaning the unit step by step. To include any of there accessories for the unit, "side tank". Aside from any of the negatives you might have found in my review, i gotta say we really love the speed, amount, and shape of the ice. Its great for get togethers and provides an alternative to regular ice.

Best invention ever for the home

My whole family absolutely loves this ice maker. We constantly use it all the time. It’s quiet, easy to operate in person or via app, which I love that it has the app as well, super convenient! Totally worth the splurge!
