Amazing ice maker

Great ice maker and it makes fast-food like ice. The app based scheduling is a huge convenience that sets it apart from other ice makers. I would not recommend this item if you lack counter space, or have low upper cabinets, but that is the only downside I can find.

This unit definitely makes the best ice! Only had a couple days but so far no issues. Makes enough ice to fill 3 water bottles for the family. We will bag some for parties on the weekend…..a little noisy but worth it

THIS IS PERFECT FOR A NUGET ICE MAKER. IT'S PORTABLE AND DOESN'T TAKE UP A LOT OF SPACE ON A KITCHEN COUNTER.

We love the ice this maker produces. The same ice as our favorite restaurants. We looked at a couple of products before we settled on this one. Very happy with the quality of the product and the speed that it produces ice. I also like the water recycle aspect of this product. The only gripe I have is the water that spills out when I pull the drawer open. I appreciate the little plastic plate that sits in front of the machine, but would really appreciate a better approach that would not require the need for a spill plate. Other than that, I have been pleased with the product.

I've wanted one of these nugget style ice makers for a long time, so I was being very careful when choosing one as they are quite pricey. However I'm so grateful I bought this one when I did as it was what kept me going when I was without AC for a week in the south.
Pros: -Once it gets going, it keeps a pretty steady stream of ice going.
-First few nuggets are pretty slushy, but the manual warns you that that is the case, and they start to harden up pretty quick.
-The ice is the perfect consistency for what I wanted.
-Larger than I thought, but not so large that I couldn't find a reasonable space for it.
-The drawer is surprisingly well insulated and the ice doesn't melt particularly quick.
-Water from the melted ice is cycled back through to make more ice, so less waste.
-First few nuggets are pretty slushy, but the manual warns you that that is the case, and they start to harden up pretty quick.
-The ice is the perfect consistency for what I wanted.
-Larger than I thought, but not so large that I couldn't find a reasonable space for it.
-The drawer is surprisingly well insulated and the ice doesn't melt particularly quick.

Cons: -It does have some annoying noises. Not terribly loud, but can be distracting. The occasional squeak, and the constant hum can be bothersome if you are sensitive to sounds.
-If you have the model without the side tank, you have to remove the drawer to refill the water reservoir, and you can't see how full it is until you do.
-My model has wifi and an app but not bluetooth. As much as a I love tech, the wifi/app setup has the potential to be a web security vulnerability, and I can't in good consciousness use it. I wish it had bluetooth so I could still set a schedule for it without having to connect it to my wifi. Thankfully it doesn't have to be connected to wifi to work.

Convenient

From the get-go the ice maker has never replenished its water supply even though we keep the side tank full. After only a couple of weeks using it the unit stopped making ice, prompting to "add water" but the water tank was full. Not until I drained all water from the unit and refilled/restarted it did it begin to make ice again and for a moment did replenish water from side tank but that was short-lived. The convenience of the unit is a big plus, I just wish it didn't require so much "human intervention" to keep it working.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

There may be bubbles in the tube connecting the side tank to the Opal if the tube is not lying flat. Try adjusting the tube to allow the water to flow. Once water starts flowing it typically will not need further adjusting.
