Spends a ridiculous amount of time defrosting

When it actually makes ice, it's great. Unfortunately it spends a ridiculous amount of time defrosting, which reduces the time it can make ice. My family members are just moderate ice users, but it's enough so that the ice maker pretty much never shuts off -- just cycles from "making ice" to "defrosting" constantly.

Great little machine

One ice making machine! We unpacked plugged it up and it started making ice! I love that as the ice melts it makes more. No waiting. It has started making a noise while making ice, a squeaking sound. Not sure what it is. But it hasn’t effected the ice making process. Sounds like it needs oiling. But overall we are satisfied with this product and love the ice! Just right for an ice eater!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Perfect for iced drinks.

We love the ice nuggets for our iced drinks and use it continually through the day. Friends and family we have over also enjoy the ice nuggets. Although It’s a bit noisy, but we are getting used to it. The only other “wish” would be more even distribution of new ice in the bin to completely fill the bin other than load the backside.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Works well and haven’t had issues with it. It is not loud and produces a great quantity of ice. Great for this Texas triple digit weather!

Great ice quality but hate that it drips excessive water every time you open the bucket to get ice

If there is residual water, flip the Opal's side tank to drain.

Meets our needs perfectly.

We wanted two things out of an icemaker: 1) Extra ice when we host dinner or patio parties and 2) a machine that produced "Sonic" ice (nuggets). This machine fits nicely on the counter in our wet bar and meets both requirements. We considered buying a built-in model for 3 X's as much + the remodeling of the cabinetry and we're much happier with this cheaper but just-as-good option.

The Best Ice!

I love nugget ice! After a very long time of admiring online and on social media, I decided I needed to have one in my life! It's so great, and my guests love it too! So fun and always a topic of conversation! No regrets!
Sometimes it does get a little noisy but not unbearable. The weekly cleaning maintenance sounds daunting at first, but its very easy and has just become part of the weekly cleaning routine.
