I thought the nuggets would stay frozen longer and in all honesty don’t use the blue tooth feature, should have bought the cheaper one

The ice bin isn't refrigerated, but the Opal design does recirculate ice melt to the water reservoir to ensure you always have fresh ice on hand. Also, while we designed this model with connectivity to add to your convenience, we also certainly understand if you prefer not to use that feature. We’ve been battling the fact that we haven’t had an ice maker in our fridge for months now, so this baby is a straight up life savor! And it looks smooth on top of that.

This thing makes a ton of perfectly soft but crunchy ice. We don’t even use the ice from the fridge anymore. My kids call the fridge ice “peasant ice” now lol. My only complaint is that when you open the tub the condensation does leak out of the bottom so we put a towel on the drip tray to catch it all.

Works great so far. I would recommend anyone who buys it to purchase the warranty. The first one I bought the fan stopped working and it kept saying add water when it was full of water. I had it replaced under the warranty. Final note it stopped working at the one year mark

Ice is great, maintenance is a bit of a pain

The ice this machine makes is great, it's exactly what we wanted. I noticed after about a week or so of operation, the rate ice production starts to slow down and it seems to defrost more often. Eventually it starts spending more time defrosting than making ice. The instructions recommend running it through a cleaning cycle once a week. Doing the cleaning takes care of the problem, but the cleaning process is a little bit of a pain. You have to make a solution of water & bleach, and run that through the machine, then drain it and run 3 more cycles of clean water through it. The whole thing takes 20-30 mins, which wouldn't be so bad if it was a few times a year, but weekly is more than annoying.
