Upgrade!

I had the original Opal and it quit working after 5 years. This one is such an upgrade in looks and how quiet it is compared to the original. I love it!

We were having trouble with our ice maker in our fridge keeping up with the amount of ice we used when we had people over. We got a different brand of nugget ice maker at first because it was cheaper. Let me tell you, you get what you pay for! We took the other ice maker back after ONE day because it was so LOUD! It also didn’t fit under our cabinets. We should’ve just purchased the Opal to begin with! It is quieter, more compact, and makes better ice, to be honest! We love it!

The unit started up with no issues and has preformed well. It provides plenty of ice and does not seem to have any issues. It is bigger than I expected as we do use the side tank.

I love this Ice maker

The nuggets aren’t quite as soft as the Sonic ice or Hospital ice but they are softer then regular ice cubes by far. The machine makes plenty of ice very quickly too.

It can be a little noisy at times, but our family is loving it down stair at our basement bar. I think my mother in law is going to purchase one also for there house.

I bought this for my 66 room hotel - simply for our cold brew coffee station on the breakfast bar. I thought this would be an upgrade compared to just having an ice bucket next to the iced coffee station. My main concern when I purchased the unit was if it would be able to keep up with a busy morning of guests wanting ice for their cold brew coffee or other drinks. I was pleased to discover that it has met my needs and always remains full! We refill the side tank daily - it uses the whole thing each day. My housekeepers also like to come and get a cup of crunchy nugget ice while they are working. Everyone is happy here! I think if a 66 room hotel can keep up with the needs of the staff and guests, then this would be fine for any household!
My purchase decision also is based upon our hotel's history with GE. All 66 rooms have GE appliances (fridge & microwave), they have all been very reliable and easy to service when needed. This is not a paid review.
