Best ice ever!!

I am absolutely in love with my ice machine. It's so quiet and easy to set up. Cleaning it was so easy and didn't take much time. Having the water tank is incredible, and easy to fill up. And the ice!! Oh my goodness it's like sonic ice and chick fil a ice had a baby. It's the perfect size and the perfect crunch.
I would recommend this to a friend!

My sister recommended I buy this as she has one. My boys love eating the ice. We find ourselves constantly going back for more several times a day. I mean who doesn’t like a little crunch with a sip of their favorite soda.

Kind of an Upgrade? Now squealing a month later.

ADDED one month after use: Icemaker is now making a random squealing noise when producing ice. Not a fan.
I recently ordered this to upgrade my other countertop nugget maker. I'm absolutely addicted to nugget ice.
PROS:
Large Reservoir
Easy to fill
Light

Easy to get ice
Keeps Ice Frozen for a long time, insulated

Overall I really like the convenience of this ice maker coupled with the quality of the brand name itself. It wasn't hard to hook up. However, it is much louder than my previous model you can definitely hear it when it is running. When the Ice Reservoir is pulled forward any water that is underneath the ice container will drip onto the ice tray. Be aware that it must be installed or you could potentially mess your countertop up.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

When Opal is in need of defrosting, it may start to squeak as ice starts to build up around the mechanisms. The defrost cycle is automatic and may take 10 to 45 minutes. With that said, if the Ice Maker is making a continuous grinding noise, this is not normal. If it's doing this, please contact Opal Support at myopalservice.com or call 866-907-6718, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, EST.

Just got mine

Hi - I just this morning unboxed, cleaned and set up my new Opal 2.0 ice maker. It was easy and directions were clear. It took a bit of timer to first clean with a bleach solution and follow that up with rinsing flushes (3) to clear bleach. Started making my first batch of ice. Comes out runny wat first but within 30 minutes everything is working. Ice tastes (and chews) great. I bough the model with the side tank and glad I did as nearly the whole tank emptied in first round. I will want to keep that full so I keep making ice. I know it says not to put finished ice in freezer, but I’m going to try it anyway and see how it does. We use a lot of ice and always want to have enough on hand. We have a reverse osmosis system so expecting excellent store-bought quality or better. I’ll repost after a few weeks and let you know how it’s going.

Mixed feelings

Pros are the ice producers is almost exactly like sonic ice as expected. It also produces ice at a reasonable rate although the storage capacity is limited. Corns the maintenance and future maintenance is time-consuming. The directions and getting it to operate online and in the boxing are terrible. There are words that light up on the front of the machine that you would have no idea are there have they not flashed on and off during the installation process. The Wi-Fi directions are useless online although it direct you to utilising them to connect every other GE product with only one exception the icemaker.
I would recommend this to a friend!

This ice maker is beautifully designed and easy to install. It fits perfectly in a small corner in my kitchen and fits the kitchen nicely with its aesthetically pleasing sleek design. Once cleaned, installed, and connected it side tank, it took about 20 minutes for the small nuggets to
