Great product when it works!

I love the GE profile opal ice machine when I first got it. 1 week before the 1 yr warranty gave up it quit making ice. I sent it in to GE to repair and 8 weeks later I received a referbished one that made loud noise. This one only worked for 4 weeks and the warranty is expired now. Not a happy customer!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

There may be an easy solution to this unexpected sound, and we would recommend that you check out the "normal operating sounds" section of the use and care manual on page 14 of the use and care manual, linked here: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-1000464-4.pdf
Some sounds can be alleviated by descaling and cleaning the icemaker. More information is on page 9 of the use and care manual, linked above. Great machine

We absolutely love this ice machine!!! It was very easy to set up and started making ice shortly after. It does have some noise but it’s not distracting at all.
I would recommend this to a friend!

This is machine is one of my favorite things. I always have ice and it’s the soft kinda ice! Water tank is super easy to refill.

Perfect little ice maker

Makes great “sonic ice”. Wife and I love it. Little noisy but not to bad. I turn it off about 7:30pm and still have some ice left when I wake up at 5:45

Great… for the most part

It works well and was simple to set up and the ice is amazing, only problem is the cleaning. When researching the product I read it would need to be cleaned every 3-4 weeks. After one week the app said the machine needed to be cleaned. For reference, I only put pre filtered water into my opal and it still requires weekly cleanings.
I would recommend this to a friend!
