Frustrated with “add water” message and no ice!

After six months of operation it stopped making ice. The message “add water” lights up and will not go off regardless of how much water is added. It will not run the cleaning cycle. I have cleaned and descaled the ice maker every time that was called for. There is nothing about this issue in the manual or easily located online. I’ll try to reach someone in the service department tomorrow (Monday). While it worked it made great ice. My only complaint before now was the frequency of needed cleaning and/or descaling.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Love It

Purchased the new model as a replacement for one of the original opals that we have had for several years. So far we like this model even better than the first. The side holding tank makes refills easier and less frequent. It reduces the need to remove the bin to add water, which helps keep mess to a minimum. Haven't had to clean it yet, but it looks like it is more serviceable than the original. We love the nugget ice and this works great for our family.
The initial run cleaning seemed to go faster than the old unit since water drains more quickly. Also, the built in filter has finer mesh which should prevent small the general dust that sometimes makes it way into the bin from cleaning or use.
If you don't own one you should get one. We do recommend using distilled water since our well water left deposits in the old model. I'd also recommend cleaning frequently - that was something we didn't do as much as we should have on the original unit we owned. Overall, well worth it!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Bad instructions, complicated to use

The product is difficult to set up. I am a chemical engineer and the instructions are difficult to follow, don't tell you that water will drip through the ice, it is necessary to prime the pump etc. They don't tell you its not made to keep on all the time. Needs to be cleaned out frequently. Called support 3 times and the hold times are over 45 minutes. The support people are real nice and helpful.

Ice maker hasn't worked for almost a month. Keeps saying I need to add water. On Point Warranty has been slow to respond and not super helpful.

Loud Machine

Makes ice fairly quickly and we are obsessed with the pebble ice, but the machine can get very very loud while defrosting. Moderately noisy while making ice, and it starts making new ice anytime a scoop is removed.

Not a good machine

When it works it's good but getting it to work consistently is another story, I would recommend to everyone to not buy a nugget , find another brand !

It makes ice but keep your expectations low

It makes nugget ice yes but definitely not a luxury appliance given the price. It does not come with a cleaning kit, descaling kit nor water filter. The app is pretty much only for scheduling it but it doesn’t really integrate with Alexa as well as you would hope. The ice bin isn’t really designed to be submerged to be clean since water will get trapped between panels for a couple of days and no way to release it.

Amazing/Not Long Lasting

I was so in love with this ice machine. I love chewing on ice so this came in very handy. It was working great, however all of a sudden it stop making ice. Done everything it shows online from cleaning, to resetting, to disconnect for couple of day and still nothing. Very disappointed that it's so expenses and the warranty is only a year. Too expensive to have such horrible warranty. It's like it knows as soon as the year is up it will die on you.
