Don’t buy!

My ice machine was under warranty. It is an Opal 2.0. After dealing non stop with their warranty department they want to send me a 1.0 refurbished ice maker. NO. My 2.0 is new and still under warranty. But it doesn’t work! They won’t budge.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Good ice but very loud noise.

This ice machine is amazing. The little ice cubes it makes are amazing. Only set back is that it has a very loud noise when it is making the ice. We had an older version and it was quiet. This updated version is extremely loud.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Hi there - We think the little ice cubes this machine makes are amazing, too! So sorry that your machine makes a loud noise while making the ice, though. This would be pretty disappointing.
Your new icemaker may make sounds you're not familiar with and most of these noises are normal. Hard surfaces like floors, walls, and countertops can amplify these sounds. I’ve only had this for a week. I’ve always enjoyed the nugget ice and this ice maker has pretty good reviews. Nice design, easy set up, easy to clean, and is quiet. It has a nice light with 2 settings and the side tank helps to keep it full.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Ice is great!

Set up is a little long, but not bad. Only negative is that the machine says “add water” often even though I have the side tank. Other than that, the ice is great, and my family loves it.
I would recommend this to a friend!

If the machine is telling you to add water even though the side tank is full, it's possible that the hoses aren't properly installed. Check out pages 3 and 4 of the Installation Instructions to make sure: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-1000499-2.pdf&_ga=2.121616769.823685366.1646061172-1156894598.1645713472. We also recommend resetting your icemaker by disconnecting power from the unit for 2 to 3 minutes and reconnecting power. If this reset does not get rid of the "add water" message, please contact myopalservice.com, or 1-866-907-6718.
