Whole Family Loves It

Got this for my wife’s birthday, but the whole family loves it, including kids! My daughter will often ask for a cup of ice just to chew on. We fill the side tank once a day and are always getting ice out. For a family of 5 we never run out of ice!

Overall we are happy with this machine, here are some comments;
Would be nice to have a place to use a 1/4" water supply line
The cleaning process takes at least an hour each week

Excellent Nugget Ice Machine

I have tried some other table top ice machine and this Ice Machine is hands down the best. Ice is very easy to chew and the machine makes ice very fast.

Why didn’t we buy this years ago?

Bought one for work without the side water feeder and everyone loved it. We love the Sonic style ice nuggets and have wanted that at home like forever. Freezer ice always tastes bad no mater what you do to try and improve it.
We have no issues with the sound, it’s quieter than or refrigerator ice maker, even quieter than our silent dishwasher.
Glad we added the side water tank, we fill it from a triple filter r/o water that sits under the sink so it rarely needs cleaning and the ice is a hit with everyone.
I should have bought it years ago. Maybe a luxury item but we deserve a little luxury every now and then.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Convenient and Inconvenient at the same time

Love the ice maker and how quickly it can produce but there is this obnoxious noise. Every day, two to three times there is a loud churning noise that goes on for about 10 minutes. I don't know what causes it but I hoping that there is a fix. Aside from that, I would recommend it. Maybe I got the faulty one!

Not sure it will last

We had the original Opal for about a month before it completely died on us. We were lucky to get a refund and then decided to buy the Opal 2 in hopes that is was a better built machine. Unfortunately it has started making some awful noises within a week of purchasing. I’m worried it won’t be lasting long either.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
