I actually saw this ice maker at a friend’s house and loved it so I was very excited to get one for our house. During the holidays all of our visiting family was obsessed with the ice maker and had a ton of questions. It is a little large but I wouldn’t change to a smaller size simply because I like the ice output for when we have large gatherings. My husband’s biggest complaint is he wished the ice wasn’t as soft so it didn’t evaporate so fast. It’s fairly quiet, makes ice very fast, and generally so far I’ve had no issues. I really enjoy this product. We are about a month into owning this product and are very pleased with our purchase.

It's not bad.

The ice maker is somewhat noisy when making the ice, and I don't like how quickly the ice melts. I also wish it was somewhat easier to clean.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

For the last 13 years, we had a built in ice maker that we loved. We recently moved and wanted another ice maker and decided to try the GE Opal. We love it!! We also bought one for our son who said this is the best gift!
