I’ve been wanting this ice maker for years. Years!! I finally got it for Christmas and I couldn’t be happier! Couldn’t be happier with it. Super easy to set up, easy to clean (1-2x per month). I love that it fits nicely on my counter, under the upper cabinet. Very happy with this product :)

We love the ice, but the machine can be loud at times, also it sometimes randomly shuts off. That can't be right. Overall it has worked great.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Easy to use. Steady production of soft, chewable ice. I generally fill the side tank once a day. Two adults in the household and we've not run out of ice - steady ice production, if you take out ice it starts making ice to replenish.

Wonderful ice maker!

I've had the GE ice maker for almost two months and I have loved it! One of my favorite features is the WIFI connection. I am able to scheduled times for ice to be produced and I receive notifications for cleaning/adding water. Great purchase and I would recommend to everyone!

Opal 2 makes great ice!

Makes great ice. I would consider the ice maker considerably noisy! It sits in our kitchen and I often mistake the Opal noise to my dishwasher running. Considering relocating to the utility room, which is a pain in the backside. Don't let the hose crimp at all or it will inhibit water supply. Would be nice if you could connect the Opal to a water line instead of having to repeatedly filling the water reservoir. And I am having issues connecting to wifi for app utilization.

Excellent Ice Maker

I was hesitant about this at first, but after purchasing this unit I am more than pleased with it. Set up is extremely easy, but please make sure you go through the initial cleaning process it's a good thing to make sure it's ready to roll. I also suggest purchasing (not included unfortunately) the water filter. Ice is made quickly and like everyone points out is the "soft" small nugget Ice. I think this is an absolute winner. You can control the unit via the app or also with your voice with Alexa and or Google. Worth the investment!
