The perfect ice maker except for one small flaw

My apartment doesn't have an ice maker and I got tired of having to refill the trays again and again. This is the perfect solution to say the least. It's the best ice for any drink and it makes it fast. However there is one thing that I've noticed that could use some improvements. The hose that is used between the water supply and the machine uses gravity. If the hose is a bit up itge machine won't make any ice until the hose is pushed all the way down. If there was a pump mechanism to feed the machine there would be zero problems with the functionality. Overall this machine gets a solid 4.5 out of 5 stars.

Makes Great nugget ice!/But Longevity?

Love the machine, it makes great ice. I am a little worried about the longevity of the machine though. I had the first GE Opal and it worked great for 9 months and then just died for no reason. Hopefully the 2.0 will last much longer. The machine makes a noise at least once a day that sounds like a creaky door opening slowly in an old house. Other than that I've had no issues since I put it in service a month ago. I will say the buttons on the 2.0 operate much better than the single button did on the original machine.

Love the side water reservoir. No need to constantly fill reservoir inside unit. Small airy chunks are perfect for any drink you have.

The ice in bin melts quickly. Ice maker does not produce nugget ice consistently, puts out crushed/mush a lot.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We hate to hear you are disappointed in the unit, and have had trouble with the ice melting too quickly and some of the produced ice being crushed or mushy. We know how concerning issues like those may be, and we’d like to assist.
If the nuggets being produced are slushy, that can be normal for approximately the first 30 minutes the product is making ice. Afterward, standard ice nuggets should be produced. The manual has information on how to operate the Opal for best results, cleaning and maintenance to keep it operating well, etc. It also has information on the limited warranty covering the product on page 19.

Our Design team will also be informed of your concerns over the ice melting and quality of the ice for future review.
