That good ice! I absolutely love this icemaker it has save me so many trips to my local sonic to have it anytime of the day is awesome it’s been plugged in since day one and constantly making that great ice every day

I love the ice that it does make, however I dont love how it leaks water out of the bottom of the drawer . I also dont care much for the way its set up. You have to hold the drawer open while you get ice or the whole drawer falls out.

Hello. We apologize for the leaking ice machine. Please make sure the drawer is closed all of the way after getting ice. When getting ice from the bucket you pull forward an then tilt bucket slightly downward and it should sty there until you push the bucket back closed. It does not always make ice when low. Have to turn the power off and on again to start motor to make ice.

Sonic ice anytime you want.

So far, this unit has worked flawlessly. It’s been about a month and we’ve never turned it off. It gets continuously used and we have yet to run low on
ice because it makes it faster than we need. It’s amazing how fast it makes the ice. Fairly easy setup too. Recommend!

Overall, I like it but it’s not everything..

I’m happy with the ice production, and overall performance. The sound from the ice maker is there, but that’s as expected. I don’t have any loud or odd noises, just sounds a bit like a mini fridge. The ice is good, and I use distilled water to avoid any calcium build up since I’m on a well. The way it recycles water from the melting ice is cool. I wasn’t sure how it all worked until I got it here, but it’s pretty simple and you always have fresh ice. For the areas that left a little to be desired, ice texture… it’s good and breaks apart when eaten but is no where as soft as sonic ice, not even close. It’s better than the solid ice from my freezer, but I had higher expectations. The pull out drawer drips a ton of water, due to condensation on the inside of the double wall front side. There could be a simple integrated drip tray on the bottom the the drawer that sloped water to the tank, rather than dripping all over the counter and the little tray they want you to put in front. I’m surprised this is an issue, as a little design thinking could solve this easily. I don’t understand the need for WiFi connectivity, or the app integration, it’s just makes ice when the hopper is low… The rest of the device is nice. Fit and finish are very nice. Like I said, overall it’s solid and works well, just a few things that could be improved.

Smart lights, smart speaker, smart ice machine?!

Get into it! Yes, Opal isn’t cheap but when you’ve been home for a year, you need something to look forward to. At 4:30 p.m. party lights, party music and how party ice automatically turn on to let me know it’s happy hour. Also, we unplugged opal to repaint the backsplash and it emailed me! It said it had been offline for 48 hours and to come check on it! It also provided me contact information if I had technical issues. If the robots are coming and they are like this, sign me up!

Makes the best ice & super easy to clean.
The only thing is that I wish it didn’t automatically make ice everytime you get ice from it. It’d be good to make on demand or request vs just triggering to make every time you take a scoop.
Still - my favorite “appliance”. Use it literally every day & I’m probably more hydrated because of it.
