We love our Opal Ice Maker! The ice tastes great, the appliance itself is attractive, and it is easy to use. Cleaning it periodically is kind of a pain, but any ice maker would need this to be done, and the longer we have it the easier that process will become. We have to fill the tank every 2-3 days for our family of 4, but only 2 of us use it regularly. So glad we bought this!

I like the size ice

Could be better all the features don’t work well it will stop making ice when it supposed to but will not restart unless you restart it have never seen a defrost mode

Hands down the best ice. Makes ice super fast and the ice is not hard on your teeth while eating it.

Love it, but…

I love the Opal ice maker, but the only the test of time can determine how good this next version is. I had the first version and did all of the regular maintenance and cleaning and it still didn’t last beyond a bit more than a year. I decided to give this ice maker another chance and purchased the 2.0 version in hopes that they fixed some of the issues with the previous version. If this thing holds up for a few years, then I’d say it’s an amazing product.

I received my opal ice machine for my birthday 8-17-21 and I’ve been in love from the first time I used it! I’m an RN at the hospital and I fell in love with crushed/hospital ice. I eat about 6 big cups a day. I would bring ice home from work and out in my freezer. LOL. My husband got tired of me having like 8-10 cups of ice in our freezer taking up room so he bought me the opal ice machine! Best gift I ever got! The only thing I would change about the machine is for it to have a way to store the ice when it’s done making. It’s not a problem tho. I just keep 2 one gallon zip loc bags full in my freezer and when I get low I make another water tank full and 1 tank full is equivalent to 1 gallon bag full!
I would recommend this to a friend!

I purchased this ice machine for my son’s dorm room. It makes perfect ice. He loves having his own personal ice maker. I love it so much and I’m so impressed that I am purchasing a second one to have in my kitchen at home.
