Long overdue

I love my Opal 2.0. I was very nervous because it’s such a big purchase. I researched and read many reviews. I am very pleased with the Opal overall. The cleaning process is a little time consuming but, worth it. The ice is perfect. Yes, it does make voice but it is no worse than other electronic appliance. It has been well worth every penny. I love that I can set a schedule. I ordered on Monday morning and it was delivered Tuesday afternoon. Ordering direct from GE was the best price around. The drip tray is a must, every time you open the compartment for ice, there is water that will drip. My only real complaint is that the water filter is apparently not something that is available yet. I really wish there was a filter. The opal makes plenty of ice, even when we’ve had multiple people making drinks we have never run into. Well worth the investment!!!

Lots of Problems

We bought the version before this latest one and it makes great ice. It is just a constant headache to keep running. Using distilled water yet have to constantly clean it or it runs for a while and shuts off. Most other users I’ve seen get about two years until it just wont work at all. It’s far too expensive to have such poor reliability.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great ice maker. I was looking for a countertop ice maker for my cottage because our water is not drinkable. Yes the ice marker is a little bigger and pricey then others but it’s worth it!! Makes great ice. It does stick together if you put it directly i. The freezer ice bucket. If you put it in a gallon ziplock bag it keeps well. Highly recommend!!

very good product, best ice at home

If you can stomach the price tag you cant beat it.. best ice at the house unless you spending about 2 grand for a professional machine that does the same ice. My only issue is I'd like a maintenance video on how to clean and deep clean this machine properly.
