Sonic ice at home!

We love this ice maker. It's quick, modern, easy to set up and use & makes the BEST ice we've found. We wish it was a little quieter, but wouldn't say it's noisy either. It just a little louder than expected when it's making ice.

Family of 4 LOVES ICE!!!

Alright, so this little thing has really been putting out, and this family of 4 keeps it busy. We have an open floor plan and it makes a little noise when its making ice, but so does this family of four. Every once in a while it sounds like the auger or conveyor may 'squeal' or something, but we got over that pretty quickly and just all laugh at it now or say, 'Use the Force'.

This ice machine does exactly what it says it will. It makes awesome nugget ice to chew on. I can not stress how much I love this machine but it does come with a couple of issues that I thought I would point out. Issue # 1) The app for this machine is misleading and doesn't work well. You need the SmartHQ app from Haier US Appliance, not from GE in order to connect this to the app. The GE Profile Opal app is for the 1.0 machine with the single circular button on the top. Issue #2) The scheduling app doesn't work well at all. If you do not have the app opened on your phone, the scheduler will not work. You can turn the ice machine on and off through the app just fine when you launch it, but the scheduler will not turn on the icemaker unless it is opened on your phone. Issue #3) The side water tank doesn't work very well unless you keep moving it up and down to get enough air in it so that it can push down the water. I take the tank out until not a lot of bubbles are rising to the top anymore and then it works ok but it is annoying to see that "Add Water" alert on the machine while the tank is full. Other than that, everything else is great! Buy it, clean it when it tells you to and enjoy!

If you have the Opal side tank accessory installed, but water is won’t flow from the tank to icemaker, this usually means there is an air bubble in the line.
Check the following:
Check that the hoses are connected properly
Make sure the hoses are lying flat
Lift the tank from the icemaker and raise it 4-5 inches until water starts to flow; then place the tank back in position.
For any issues with the SmartHQ app call the Connected Home Support Line at 1-800-220-6899, Monday - Friday 9am - 11pm ET, Saturday - Sunday 9am - 3pm ET, or email connected@help.geappliances.com.

Very happy with the ice maker. I was concerned that the ice bin isn’t refrigerated but what little ice melts just drains into the reservoir and gets made back into ice. Love the WiFi features.
