Super easy to set up and clean to start making ice. It is the perfect chewy ice for drinks. The noise of the motor is fairly quiet, especially in a room with a vaulted ceiling.
I would recommend this to a friend!

not worth the price. started leaking and made sure cleaning cycle was done, GE sent out a new one under the one year warranty and had to return the original one. now at the one year mark the replacement makes loud blending machine sounds. just junk, if you spend money its best to get one hooked up to a water line (so u do not have to keep ing up the side bottle and not get a GE ice maker. it makes all kinds of sounds all day.

Horrific noise

The product created amazing ice while it worked. We are 8 months out of warranty and it makes a horrific loud knocking grinding whining screaming sound while making ice.
It’s so loud our neighbors can hear so we had to discontinue using it after only 19 months of owning it.

Mold grows!

While at first we loved this ice maker, it is perpetually moldy at the bottom. We clean it out at least weekly (with bleach!) & only put Brita filtered water in the reservoir. It is incredibly frustrating as the ice holder always has mold at the bottom. We even took it apart and clean the insides and replaced tubing. It is not easy to clean and it doesn't seem like considerations for cleaning were ever acknowledged in the manufacturing of this product. No way others don't have the same issue and we regret this purchase.

Waste of money

Worked great for a year! Now has the squealing noise and won’t make ice. Bought May of 2023. Used filtered water every time! Cleaned as directed!!

I NEED A NEW ICE BIN🥹

we absolutely love our opal 2.0 nugget machine and do our regular cleanings. It is a little cumbersome to clean very difficult to find replacement parts even through GE. ours has been down for the last month because I cannot find a replacement ice spin or ice spin warped because my daughter put it in the dishwasher and it melted so I found an extra side bin, but I cannot find a replaceable ice tray holder anywhere any suggestions on how we can replace that? what do I need to do?

Makes great ice when it’s working. I’m on #6. These things are horribly unreliable. Good search it. Pumps fail because haier uses cheap pumps. The fans will go as well and it will stop producing ice. If you get a year you are lucky. Buy an extended warranty because you will need it.

Horrible life expectancy

This ice maker works when it does. Lasted me 2 maybe 3 years before failing. Absolutely not worth the money. Save your money and buy something cheaper and it will most likely last longer than this junk. Ended up throwing this 700 dollar ice maker in the dumpster.
