Not My First Choice

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was given this baby bottle set to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. I really like the size of this bottle as I currently have an 8-month-old who takes up to 7oz at a time. The ergonomic shape of the bottle gives it a nice and easy grip. Cleaning and assembly of this bottle is a breeze with a standard bottle cleaning brush and drying system. Despite this, as an almost exclusively breastfeeding mama, I prefer a slower nipple flow to more closely mimic the breast. My baby had a tongue-tie and has experienced difficulty across the board with bottle feeding. He has had the most success with narrow neck bottles and seemed to have more difficulty with this wide-neck bottle. Overall, this bottle would work for my family in a pinch but would not be my first choice.

Just Could Not Make It Work For Us

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Philips Avent Natural and nipple are easy to clean, look and feel nice. However, this set just didn’t work for us. I don’t know if the nipple on this bottle can be more tricky, but my baby (5 weeks) wasn’t able to drink any milk from it. Spent plenty of time sucking and realized quickly the bottle wasn’t emptying and we were still at the exact same starting measurement. I changed nipple to see if it was an issue with this particular one, and then changed the flow level to see if that was the issue and neither worked. I know babies can have an easier/harder time with certain nipples and how they are designed - and this one just did not work for us.
As for the bottle - It is a very nice design and comfortable to hold. There are easy to read measurements in both ml and oz - which is very much appreciated.
The nipple seems to be made of a much heavier silicone, giving it a sturdier feel with less give. Easy to clean and insert into the bottle ring. Didn’t have any leaking issues.

Amazing bottle from Philips

These Philips Avent Natural Baby Bottle with Natural Response Nipple are amazing and I will not buy any other brand after me trying them. The ergonomic shape is very sleek and simple make it easy for my baby to hold the bottle. My baby was controlling the pace of the milk like when I breastfeeding her with no leak at all. It’s only release milk when my baby actively drink which is amazing. The wide and soft nipple is so comfortable for my baby and easy to latch. Assembly was super easy with no small parts. The bottle has a wide neck make it very easy to clean and it is a dishwasher safe. We love it and will definitely be using this bottle moving forward.

Comfortable Bottle for Baby and Feeder

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this bottle from the Stellar Review Panel to test with my 2 month old child. Currently, I am breastfeeding, so this bottle was our first attempt at transitioning to prepare for heading to daycare.
Out of the box, the bottle is simple to use and easy to sanitize based on provided instructions. Assembly is easy and the nipple sits tightly in the cap.
When we tried, my son was a little resistant at first, but was willing to try taking some milk. The grip is comfortable in my hand and easy to hold. The size is nice, holding up to 9 ounces, but still great for only 1 or 2 as we started out.
The bottle came with a level 3 nipple, but I tried a level 2 that was provided by the Stellar Testing Panel as well, which was good to reduce the flow a bit. At times as he sucked, he would take breaks, so it seemed that the milk wasn’t leaking into his mouth and overwhelming him.
The cap and nipple system is nice because it fits my pump, so I would have the option to pump directly into these bottles if desired and skip a transfer, reducing some loss.
Despite many great features, so far my son has not taken to this particular bottle yet, so we may have to try something else, but my older daughter loves this same style and we were very successful with it for her.

Only bottle set you need

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this set from the Stellar Product Testing Panel after we received another bottle set from our registry. I noticed that baby prefers the wide Avent nipple more than the other brand because he doesnt have this bewildered look that he typically has when we put the other bottle/nipple (which is a little narrower) in his mouth. Baby finishes the milk faster than the other bottle (controlling the pace), which isnt necessarily great as he tends to spit up more because of how quickly he's sucking. For this reason only, baby is better suited for a slower flower nipple rather than the Avent's.
I appreciate that the bottle set is the larger 9oz size versus the 5oz 'newborn' size. I've used the smaller Avent bottle with my daughter 3 years ago and was very annoyed about having to buy another set of bottles when she started drinking more than 5oz per feeding. The larger size also makes it handy to store breastmilk as each boob is currently producing a little more than 5oz per feed. Other pluses over the other brands is that there are only 3 parts versus 4 or more and way easier to put together than the other brands. My only gripe is that I wish the set included the flat caps for milk storage as it came with the sample bottle that was sent for free with certain registry packages.

Thoughtful bottle set

Once I received this bottle set, my expectations were lacking, but I quickly could see the perks this set offers. My daughter is 9 months old, breastfed 80% of the time, and is extremely picky with the way she receives milk from a bottle.
When I first observed these bottles, I immediately thought they looked high quality but realized how lightweight and sleek they were. This was a positive thing for me, as I typically steer away from plastic bottles - but these were so lightweight that my daughter was able to hold comfortably and feed herself. The shape of the bottle allowed her little hands to grasp and secure in place so she was able to drink. The nipple of the bottle is almost a replica of that for a breastfed baby. I was amazed at how my daughter’s suck and grasp around the nipple resembled when she nursed. She also didn’t put up a fuss for the bottle versus breast. The flow (stage 3) was good for her but she preferred the higher stage, yet she did not fuss over the standard stage. The nipple did not leak nor did it come loose around the nipple/bottle ring - so no spillage! This was a favorite feature of mine.
Cleaning these were simple and easy because of the thoughtful way they were made wider and of solid material. In the past, I’ve tended to use glass bottles, but felt that these plastic Avent ones sanitized and became clean enough for my standards. The fact that they don’t break when dropped is an added bonus!
My daughter really enjoys these bottles and I feel they were made with moms and babies in mind.

Phillips Natural Response Bottle

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First off, this was our first time to try out a larger bottle and I am so surprised how big it is. My baby is 7 months old and this bottle holds much more than she can currently take. I know the larger bottle size will be so useful as she continues to grow and potentially need larger feeds. i really love this bottle’s shape and how easy it is to clean. The opening and body is wide so it can be really effectively and easily cleaned with a normal bottle brush! Some bottles can be so cumbersome but this one is really straightforward. The Natural Response nipples worked great for my breastfed baby. I think some babies could be frustrated by the extra work needed. The nipples design really encourages a paced feed and helps babies avoid getting extra air. We are excited to use this bottle again and again! Thanks for the stellar product testing panel for sending us this bottle to try!

Easy to use and good for on the go

I really like the shape and size of this bottle as it fits easily in our diaper bag. The ergonomic shape makes it easy to hold. My baby recently had a tongue tie release so the wide-shaped nipple helps allow for an easy transition between bottle and breast. We loved using the Advent bottles especially in the first 3 months. As he has gotten older, I prefer the some other bottles because he tends to be less gassy after drinking from colic specific bottles. Overall the Advent bottles are a lot easier to clean though and we opt for them when we are going for trips or staying out of town.
