New nipple design is terrible
on January 2, 2022

We started using the old style of the 0 nipple with my twins, when we moved up to the 1 and 2 of the “new and improved” design My babies sucked for 25 minutes to only get a half ounce. This new nipple design is awful. I invested so much money into these bottles for my first daughter and now my twins. I now have to find new bottles that my twins will drink from. That’s hundreds of dollars down the drain because Philips avents poor design. I used to recommend this bottle to everyone I know having babies and gift them for shower gifts, never again.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hi, Thank you for taking your time to write this review. We're sorry that it's this difficult for your twins to get the milk out with our new nipples. Let's see how we can help you here. Indeed, if your babies were comfortable drinking form the old size 0, than size 2 from the new version should work just fine for them. However, as we don't need to explain to you, every child is different. This is why we suggest trying out size 3 the next time you'll be feeding them.
If this doesn't improve your experience, please reach out to us on Social Media. We’re available 24/7 on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/Philips ) and Twitter (https://twitter.com/philipscare). Alternatively, you can reach out to us via the contact page on our website. One of our colleagues will then try their best to help you further.
Hope to speak to you soon!

Baby won’t drink from the redesigned nipples

I swore by these nipples and my son has loved them since day one (we were supplementing breastfeeding). He is now 7 months and needed to buy more size 3 (old design) nipples. They were impossible to find for a month or so. Then, they were brackets on the market, and it turns out they CHANGED the design. My son WILL NOT drink from the new nipples. We even bought bigger sizes to see if they changed the size scale, and it did not work. Now we only have 6 nipples he will use and it requires constant washing. Why fix what wasn’t broken???

Bring back the old nipples

Not a fan of the new nipples. Baby has to work harder to eat and that's not what we need for a baby that needs to gain weight. Let your customers choose if we want the natural response or free flow natural nipples. We've spent so much money on bottles and nipples so it's frustrating having found a brand we liked and trusted and now considering switching and having to start over. Hopefully these reviews are helpful so you can add back the old version.

Hi, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review here. We really appreciate your feedback on our new Natural Response line, and it's unfortunate to hear that it has not been the right fit for you and your baby. We understand that the new design is very different and thus can be difficult to get accustomed to. The idea behind it, however, is to mimic the feeling of a real nipple and be better for the baby because of it. In case you'd like us to provide you with some more guidance and/or see if we can locate the right nipple for you, we would be happy to assist you. For that, please feel free to get in touch via social media. We’re available 24/7 on Facebook and Twitter. Alternatively, you can reach out to us via the contact page on our website. One of our colleagues will then try their best to help you further. Hope to speak to you soon! Kind regards, Philips Consumer Care

Do not waste your money if you used the old nipple design. Baby can’t get milk from the new design. Why did you change what wasn’t broken?

Hi, thanks for taking the time to write a review. We're sorry to hear that your baby dislikes our new Natural Response nipples. The new design uses a compression mechanism that releases milk when your baby is actively drinking. This creates a seamless combination between bottle feeding and breastfeeding. If the flow is too low with the nipple, we recommend using one with a higher flow rate. Additionally, we recommend watching your little one’s cues to find the best nipple flow. Depending on whether your baby drinks enthusiastically or slow and steady, a different flow rate might be suitable. Keep in mind that it can take a few attempts before your baby can get used to the change and learn to use the drinking patterns from breastfeeding when drinking from a bottle. We hope this helps! Should you have further questions or concerns, kindly reach out to us at 1-800-542-8368. One of our specialists will then try their best to help you further.

New natural response nipple is terrible

I’ve used avent bottles for all of my children and when I purchased replacement nipples for my 6-month-old, was dismayed to see that philips changed the design without allowing a way to buy the old version. My baby really dislikes the new nipples and it is causing us a lot of problems. I no longer recommend these bottles and I’m frustrated that philips changed the design abruptly. disappointing.

Hi,
Thanks for reaching out to us regarding the new Avent Natural Response Nipples, we are sorry to hear that your baby currently dislikes using them and you are so disappointed. We hope we can make your experience with the new nipples less frustrating. The design of the nipple is inspired by the physiology of moms and babies, and as a result it looks and feels more like a real breast. Its natural, broad and soft design encourages your baby to latch on with a wide-open mouth and to suckle in a way that’s similar to breast feeding. This helps make the switch from breast to bottle more natural. The flow rate of milk they get from the nipple is linked to how enthusiastically or steadily they drink as they develop. Enthusiastic drinkers use a strong suction and compression while drinking, resulting in greater milk flow, so they usually need a lower nipple flow from the Natural Response range (such as nipple number 1 or 2) to avoid overflow. Slow and steady drinkers are likely to prefer a higher nipple flow (such as nipple 4 or 5), to ensure enough milk flows, regardless of age.
We hope this helps, if you have any further questions, please feel free to get in touch with our dedicated Avent Parent and Child Care team on 1-800-542-8368. One of our colleagues will then try their best to help you further.
Hope to speak to you soon!

Clear the Shelves There is a New Bottle in Town
on April 11, 2022

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As a breastfeeding mom I have struggled to find a bottle my baby will accept. Traditional nipples are skinny and the milk just flows out and chokes her. With the Phillips Avent Natural Bottle the milk only flows as she sucks just as if she were nursing so the choking has been completely eliminated! As a perk that also means when baby turns the bottle upside down the milk doesn’t drip out. Woohoo! Another reason I’m in love with this bottle is the ease of cleaning. No little parts with nooks and crannies just the bottle, nipple, and plastic ring. Talk about making life easy! I received this product as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel.

Hate the new nipples

Both of my girls LOVED the old style nipples and for whatever reason the only ones available in stores are the new style. My daughter will not take the new ones at all. So unfortunately I'm using nipples that are 2 years old and hoping they last until she is one. You had the best bottles and im not sure why you messed with it .

Great bottle for babies of all ages

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My 2 month old baby is just beginning to drink from a bottle so I was grateful to have received the Philips Avent Natural Baby Bottle With Natural Response Nipple from the Stellar Product Testing Panel. I really like the feel of the bottle and was excited that it is super easy to clean since there are not multiple parts to assemble and wash. It is comfortable to hold and is a good size. I like that the nipple was wide and felt pretty natural. I have a fast flow when she's nursing, but she chokes frequently and I love that this nipple has a no-drip tip so it doesn't drip or continue to flow into her mouth when she pauses her sucking. Would definitely recommend!
