Very powerful but has some drawbacks

It's very powerful and does a great job blending to a very smooth consistency as other reviews will tell you. There are a few negatives though:
1. The "high" setting is more or less unusable. Turning it on with the high setting causes liquid to spew out the top no matter how tight the two-piece lid is.
2. Plastic jar is solid but would prefer glass. I would also prefer a wider jar.
3. The food processor attachment apparently is not compatible with this base.

Vitamix 5200 is a work horse

Bought it in 2011 and still using it daily. Great product, I've used other blenders and this Vitamix model is definitely the best.

Bought my Vitamix 5200 about a month ago and love it. From smoothies to açaí bowls to soups and sauces, it is a workhorse that blends whatever I need quickly and easily.

This blender works really well. You can tell the machine is made with quality. However, I'm not giving it five stars because the cord organizing design underneath the machine is terrible. These little plastic prongs are intended to hold the cord in place but getting the cord in and out of the prongs is annoying. For this price point, I would expect a much cleaner and easier design for cord organization.
