Listening to the reviews l had and seeing the vitamix blender wonders in my friend kitchen. Both for wet things like smoothies, beans for moi ,moi dry like corn mill it's grinds these things to finish. Vitamix blender is a must have for easy cooking for your family. Vitamix blender regular is a must have in your family's kitchen especially when you up gred to vitamix 5200 is super.

This is my first Vitamix after using a ninja for years. The ninja never failed me, and does a pretty good job, but the Vitamix does a substantially better job at making things creamier and smoother. I went for the 5200 legacy after reading that it can handle smallbatch things better than some of the larger newer Vitamix containers, and this was the right choice for me. I make mostly white sauce for pasta/pizza, and salad dressings and soups. And it excels at all of these.
The one thing I will say is that making peanut butter with the Vitamix is still quite the hassle. It works well, but getting the peanut butter out, and cleaning the container afterward just hasn't been worth all the effort in my opinion. This isn't to say that the device is flawed in any way, just that the act of making peanut butter is not a very fun one, and the "ease of cleaning" often touted in online blogs is incongruent with my experience.
All in all I think the device is great, has a really solid warranty, and I'm happy that I've purchased it.

Blends great smoothies and hummus, but the 30+ minute cutoff to prevent damage is SUPER annoying as it generally happens right when you are pretty much done, then you aren't able to clean the thing by running it. Otherwise, perfect. Still, the price seems a bit high.

This is our second Vita-Mix. There is a significant quality difference between this new one and our older one. The new one feels flimsy and all around lesser quality. The base itself is lighter and the plastic is thinner. The motor doesn’t sound as quiet as our other Vita-Mix. Overall, this is still probably the best option on the market. But we are sadly disappointed in the reduced quality.
