We bought one 7 years ago and still it blends like new. Why am I reviewing it now? I was buying another one for my son and came across the reviews and thought I would chime in. My only complaint would be to make it a bit more dummy proof. You can accidental leave it on high and if you turn it on with the top off everything in the blender will be on the ceiling - or your face depending on where you are standing when you flip the switch. Yes, it happened once to us (not me I am glad to say) and it took hours to clean up and we actually laughed the entire time - and we have 12 foot ceilings!!! I wish I had a photo to share so everyone could share the laughs.
We LOVED our previous 5200 that we bought about 10 years ago, used it daily, so when it broke recently we just bought another 5200. It is not that great. It still works and blends our smoothies, but it just sounds and smells like its on the struggle bus, very loud and unhappy sounding. Like I said, it still blends a smoothie, just seems to struggle not like our old one.
Pros: Speed of Service, Texture Quality, Durability, Easy to use, Power
I had my Vitamix 5000 for nearly 20 years and was very sorry when I killed it by turning it on with a spoon inside. I tried to replace it with a blender in order to save money, but that did not work out. The new 5200 works as well at smoothies, chutneys, soups, etc. and is still very easy to clean. However, it seems louder than the old machine despite now sitting on a sound absorbing pad. Also, the lid is much harder to remove because the side flanges are slightly shorter than the 5000, and the center insert to the lid rattles because it does not fit snugly. Fortunately, the 5000 lid fits the 5200.
We think that we made a great choice. Definitely worth the money. It's an impressive machine by any standard.
We are working our way through the recipe book and enjoying everything we have tried.
If I had it to do over again, I would probably get the shorter version so that it would fit under the upper cabinet. We don't "store" it away since we use it nearly every day.
Pros: Healthy lifestyle, Good recipes, Product features, Functional, Versatile, High quality, Long lasting, Easy to clean, Easy to use, Durable, Blend quality
I would recommend this to a friend!

I bought my first Vitamix 3 years ago. I had to send it back for repairs. They had it repaired and it was on the way, when someone sent it to the wrong part of the country. They intercepted it and the next email I received said it had been damaged in shipping. Long story short...they sent me a brand new machine with two containers (48 and 64oz) plus spatula and extra tamper. This is the best company I've ever dealt with.
Pros: Recipe Enhancement, Power, Texture Quality, Programability, Easy to use, Durability, Product features, Speed of Service, Versatility

My mom shocked me with this Vitamix for Christmas. Best material gift I've ever received. I use it daily and love how easy it is to make sure my family is getting good nutrients in a healthy, delicious smoothie. I also love making soups in it (and it blows my mind at how hot they get), but still need to venture into the other arenas. Highly recommend anyone and everyone getting a Vitamix!!
Pros: Power, Texture Quality, Easy to use, Durability
Useful for everyday making smoothies and baby food. Went back and forth on spending this much on a blender but it is worth it and you get what you pay for. I’m very happy with my blender.
Pros: Speed of Service, Texture Quality, Easy to use, Power
I was so excited about this highly recommended model, but the blade is already acting funny after only a month. I follow the instructions carefully about turning up the speed, then going to high, etc. so I’m confident it isn’t user error. Doesn’t feel worth hundreds of dollars. :-(.
