I purchased a certified reconditioned 5200 about 12 years ago and it's still going strong! It easily handles smoothies, hot soups, dressings, dips, chopping raw cauliflower to make "rice," and just about anything you might need to blend, mix, or chop! I am so glad I purchased it and will be looking to add one of the new shorter containers soon for smaller tasks :)

Absolute best on the market!! This was a replacement for my first one so there was a couple weeks without a Vitamix and it was an awful smoothie couple of weeks!! Our backup was terrible compared to our Vitamix! I will ALWAYS have a Vitamix!

Makes Me Happy My KitchenAid Died

I loved my old KitchenAid blender, which was a true workhorse in my kitchen, but I have to say, I could marry my Vitamix. It's given my nutrition smoothies a new lease on life; the texture is so so so much creamier now. They're no longer things I "have" to drink; now they're things I *want* to drink.
Plus, I recently discovered the existence of "Nice Cream", and, when it comes to trying to make ice cream out of a frozen banana, the Vitamix is way more up to the task than my food processor is. The food processor is pretty good, but the Vitamix takes that banana and turns it into smooooooooth goodness.

Bottom line, this Vitamix makes sad, healthy food seem like it's almost sinful. Which makes it enjoyable.

I bought my vitamix over 10 years ago and I love it! Before I kept breaking blender bases when making smoothies, but I’ve never had any problems with this one. It is the best! I never buy hummus, it turns out super smooth.
