Long Lasting Blender Forever!

I bought my Vitamix 5200 in 2008 and it still works great, I make amazing smoothies for my family, made with frozen fruits and ice cubes. I also make sauces and vegetables smoothies. Blend flax seeds and other grains very well. I can say that Vitamix is worth every penny! Sometimes, I want to buy a new digital Vitamix model just to be in digital fashion.

I've had this for a short time (about 1 month) and have used it for smoothies, soups, and sauces. So far its working great for me.

The machine is much quieter than i though it would be especially on the lower settings. Its quiet enough that my 2.5yr old doesn't mind it. She's normally averse to louder kitchen appliances but actually doesn't mind this blender. (maybe she just likes smoothies.)

Wow. I wondered if I was buying into the hype and getting more blender than I need...but this has been so great. I've never been a big smoothie person, but now I'm making them just about every day. The Vitamix grinds through frozen fruit like it's nothin'. I've made soup as well, and intend to explore more recipes--but I'm still excited by the smoothies.

One blender that does it all. I didn’t know how to use it properly. Called Vitamix and they patiently helped me understand. Since then no looking back. I use it for grinding my indian spice mixes to smoothies. This blender never fails me.

Still going strong since 2010!

I've used my Vitamix almost daily for the past 12 years, and it's still running strong! I use it to make my daily smoothies most often, but have also used it to make soups. I love it!

I purchased a refurbished 5200 blender. I'm making hot soups, whipped drinks, smoothies and who knows what next! Having only owned typical blenders I had no idea how incredibly easy it would be to create healthy alternatives to store bought items. Additionally, the refurbished unit is just like new. So happy with my purchase!

Excellent blender-- but it's loud

This blender does an amazing job at blending smoothies (kale stems, ice, flaxseed, etc.). It was easy to learn how to use it because it came with instructions and a recipe book. I use it once or twice a day and it has really helped me to adopt a healthier lifestyle because I can blend perfect smoothies with ease.
That said, there are some things I wish were different:
*It's TOO LOUD. Everyone in my household is worried that we're all going to lose our hearing because it is far too loud. We cover our ears and/or run for the hills when it is in use. Not ideal, but you can work around it.
*It can't go in the dishwasher. That said, it is very quick/easy to clean if you follow the instructions in the manual.
*The suction cups that help it to stay in place can leave a faint mark on your counters.

Overall, I am very happy with this purchase and I think it has already paid for itself in less than a year. I am truly grateful for it. If you are on the fence, I highly recommend it. I had disappointingly weak blenders for years, and this machine puts them to shame.

Subpar warranty

Just beware of the warranty, if your someone who depends on this unit for dietary reasons and it gives out they do not replace units at all. You will have to have your unit refurbished. And if they find that it was caused due to neglegence they won't fix it so at the price point it leaves a lot to be desired. I can buy 5 ninja blenders and they have an amazing warranty.
