Two very senior people are enjoying this terrific machine. We use it daily making highly neutrious concoctions in zip time. Clean up is a whiz which makes it so easy to use. I keep the main power part near my sink with the container lid on top when not in use for quick ease of use. Looks neat and tidy there with low profile on working top. The container goes in cupboard. This is a fun hard working class act machine with a wonderful warranty. Love it!
Pros: Texture Quality, Durability, Easy to use, Recipe Enhancement, Power
This is my second purchase. I noticed that my Vitamix Super 5000 wasn't emulsifying carrots like it used to. I was getting some strings. I got a replacement blade but it didn't fix it. So I decided to just use the super 5000 for grinding up spelt (ancient wheat) using a dry grinding blade and smaller container. I got the new 5200 but decided to use the old larger container with the new wet blade because the new container with the wet blade had a tendency to leak out of the top. The new 5200 vibrates as if it was slightly out of balance. But the vibration seems to have lessened with use.
My Vitamix machine is the easiest machine to use and extremely well built. I use it daily to prepare vegetable and fruit drinks which have dramatically improved my health.
I bought this to replace my Vitamix 5000 which I bought in March 2001. Sadly my old machine finally died at age 18, after being used nightly to make frozen drinks. It was my all-time favorite, so I bought the new 5200 which is pretty close to the same thing. It's a workhorse, and is the only brand of blender I will buy.
Pros: Speed of Service, Texture Quality, Durability, Easy to use, Power

Makes Me Happy My KitchenAid Died

I loved my old KitchenAid blender, which was a true workhorse in my kitchen, but I have to say, I could marry my Vitamix. It's given my nutrition smoothies a new lease on life; the texture is so so so much creamier now. They're no longer things I "have" to drink; now they're things I *want* to drink. Plus, I recently discovered the existence of "Nice Cream", and, when it comes to trying to make ice cream out of a frozen banana, the Vitamix is way more up to the task than my food processor is. The food processor is pretty good, but the Vitamix takes that banana and turns it into smooooooooth goodness.
Bottom line, this Vitamix makes sad, healthy food seem like it's almost sinful. Which makes it enjoyable. I am looking forward to trying new recipes with my fabulous new appliance! Thank you, Vitamix :-)
Pros: Texture Quality, Durability, Easy to use, Versatility, Power
My husband has a g-tube. So, I was able to make healthy smoothies for him.

A workhorse!

We bought our Vitamix at the Del Mar Fair in 1995. I still have this same blender 26 years later and it works exactly the same as when it was new. The White base has yellowed a little bit, I replaced the tamper once because I thought I could use it without the lid and the stainless cutter destroyed the plastic tamper in a split second (never did that again), I replaced the pitcher after 15 years when it developed a small crack that leaked. Same motor, same cutting head.
I bought each of my nieces one of these for their wedding presents. Don’t waste your money on the fancy button models. Get the basic workhorse which has On/Off-High/Variable and the Speed knob. You do not need any other features for your Vitamix.
