I have owned many high-end blenders in my 63 years, and this is, by far, the best one I've ever used. I sees use 3 times a week to make small batches of food for my dog, as well as making sauces and other things for my own use. Instead of creating a slurry of small piece like all of my previous blenders have, my Vitamix makes the smoothest, velvety mixtures I've ever made, without any piece I could make out without a microscope. I am deeply impressed.
Pros: Texture Quality, Durability, Easy to use

This brand is very expensive!!…. but it WORKS!! Really really well. I had bought a much less expensive, different brand that said it did just as good and would make things smooth and all that marketing stuff, BUT it did not work well and in less than 6 weeks it stopped working. That money was down the drain and it never really did what I needed. THIS VITAMIX is worth EVERY penny!!!
I have a rare condition call Achalasia. My esophagus no longer moves food down into my stomach. So what I eat must be in a puréed or fine chop in sauces or gravy’s. If not, the food gets stuck midway down my esophagus and that can be painful and causes violent regurgitation and that food never reaches my stomach. I’ve lost 45+lbs. It’s been a rough year to say the least! I’m still figuring it all out, but getting this unit and getting recipes from vitamix has helped me find my new way of eating, for survival, as well as helping me to make things that are puréed but taste good so I can enjoy food again. Thank you Vitamix, thank you for the recipes, thank you for a machine that works really really well and gives me opportunities to create a meal that I can look forward to eating. This unit is not just a smoothie maker. It’s my life line.
If you are someone with swallowing issues and need puréed foods…. DO NOT HESITATE!!!…To invest in a vitamix!! It will make your life easier!!! It will give you options that other blenders can’t give you! It can be your life saver.

I waited for years to purchase a vitamix. Because of the cost. Not realizing the actual cost I was paying by using a sub par blender. Wow. This is my favorite appliance and I use it daily. There is not a price tag you can put on your health and this is so worth the money!
Pros: Durability, Easy to use, Product features, Power

This blender has been used for a making different things and it really does it well.Ive made smoothies on other blenders and it was almost always lumpy , but my vitamin really gets all my ingredients down to a fine liquid. It has plenty of power, I am very satisfied with this purchase.

I have have a Vitamix 5200 for maybe 20 years. I realized it wasn't working as well as it once did so we decided to replace it. We basically use it for smoothies using essentially the same ingredients as we always have for many years. Sadly, the new 5200 doesn't work nearly as well as the old one. About once a week I have go dig out the base unit from the garage to finish our breakfast because the new one once again shuts down. There is no way this unit could make ice cream or anything else remotely heavy duty like the old one could when it was new. Very disappointed in this product.

Hi, we are sorry to hear of your experience. Please know that the newer units have a more sensitive thermal protection system to protect the motor and will shut off when they get too warm. To avoid overheating your machine in the future, be sure to ramp the machine up to the highest speed within five seconds of turning it on to activate the cooling fan in the motor. If you have tried these tips and still are having an issue, please call us at 1-800-848-2649, so we can further assist.
