Two very senior people are enjoying this terrific machine. We use it daily making highly neutrious concoctions in zip time. Clean up is a whiz which makes it so easy to use. I keep the main power part near my sink with the container lid on top when not in use for quick ease of use. Looks neat and tidy there with low profile on working top. The container goes in cupboard. This is a fun hard working class act machine with a wonderful warranty. Love it!
Pros: Texture Quality, Durability, Easy to use, Recipe Enhancement, Power
This is my second purchase. I noticed that my Vitamix Super 5000 wasn't emulsifying carrots like it used to. I was getting some strings. I got a replacement blade but it didn't fix it. So I decided to just use the super 5000 for grinding up spelt (ancient wheat) using a dry grinding blade and smaller container. I got the new 5200 but decided to use the old larger container with the new wet blade because the new container with the wet blade had a tendency to leak out of the top. The new 5200 vibrates as if it was slightly out of balance. But the vibration seems to have lessened with use.
My Vitamix machine is the easiest machine to use and extremely well built. I use it daily to prepare vegetable and fruit drinks which have dramatically improved my health.
I bought this to replace my Vitamix 5000 which I bought in March 2001. Sadly my old machine finally died at age 18, after being used nightly to make frozen drinks. It was my all-time favorite, so I bought the new 5200 which is pretty close to the same thing. It's a workhorse, and is the only brand of blender I will buy.
Pros: Speed of Service, Texture Quality, Durability, Easy to use, Power
My husband has a g-tube. So, I was able to make healthy smoothies for him.

A workhorse!

We bought our Vitamix at the Del Mar Fair in 1995. I still have this same blender 26 years later and it works exactly the same as when it was new. The White base has yellowed a little bit, I replaced the tamper once because I thought I could use it without the lid and the stainless cutter destroyed the plastic tamper in a split second (never did that again), I replaced the pitcher after 15 years when it developed a small crack that leaked. Same motor, same cutting head.
I bought each of my nieces one of these for their wedding presents. Don’t waste your money on the fancy button models. Get the basic workhorse which has On/Off-High/Variable and the Speed knob. You do not need any other features for your Vitamix.
I really like that the container tapers down smaller at the bottom so it’s easier to make small batches. I’ve been making a lot of plant based salad dressings, mayo, and sour cream. I even made a cashew sauce and cooked it right in the Vitamix.

Great so far, but technique matters!

So far, I have made peanut butter, salsa, margaritas, smoothies, and crushed ice.
It's extremely powerful and hasn't struggled in the slightest to grind down anything, however, it's important to note how big of a deal technique is. I struggled with my first smoothie because my apple slices were too large and got stuck, preventing things from being ground down. You need to ensure you have your tamper ready or cut the pieces to an appropriate size for it to free blend.
Finally, there definitely is an art to what speed you use for different goals and recipes. For this, Vitamix's recipes on their website are really good about including instructions on what speed to keep the blender at or change it to.
Overall, there's a bit of a learning curve, but the device is awesome! It's also a lot quieter than I expected (though noisy ingredients like ice always cause extra noise, the motor/blender noise is fairly small compared to the Ninja blender we had before).
