I bought a bright red Vitamix 5200 Standard for my sister, as her husband's health issues required he utilize a 'feeding tube' for some time. The Vitamix 5200 is ideal for mixing healthy foods so necessary at this time -- even some he might otherwise ignore, chuckled my sister! Well, the rest of the family loves the Vitamix because of its easy of use for preparing a variety of delicious dishes everyone loves. It's still amazing the Vitamix can prepare a meal one can consume through a straw (!) and then be satisfyingly full for hours. The Vitamix 5200 Standard is a high-quality product that will be enjoyed by the family for years to come; it's a true delight!

Replaced my 25+ machine. It is still working! Passed it along to my daughter to use up. I chose the basic 5200 model as it is the same I’ve had for all these years. The only difference is the soft start and updated look of metal.
I hope to get the same service from my new machine which did many smoothies for our large (10 total) family.
This is a staple in any kitchen as far as I’m concerned! Thanks Vitamix!

I like the 2 horsepower motor, and the variable speed control, but the size of the container needs to be larger. I always end up making 2 batches, which is a hassle. The blend quality gets worse the fuller the container gets, near the top, it takes a really long time to blend thoroughly.
