Bought mine in 2011, no issues or problems. They are pricey, but if you commit to making a vitamix be a daily investment...meaning not storing it in the cabinet but leaving it out on the countertop as a proud trophy of health, then it will serve you well. I make green drinks of green veggies and blueberries, and it does it again and again with ease. Think of the vitamix as an investment to your health, then keep it out so you make sure to use it everyday. The vitamix with a george foreman combo is lethal for college students who want to stay healthy with a short window time for cooking.
I bought my Vitamix 5200 last week, and it arrived today. The first thing I made was the going green smoothie. It processed it until no individual food particles were left, and one flavor could not be distinguished from another. My children who despise spinach loved the sweet smoothie. It was a win/win, and I could not be more pleased, as I have two special needs children with sensory disorders so being able to get nutrients into the food they enjoy like the mango sorbet, also known as ice cream in our house, is a major plus here.
Pros: Speed of Service, Texture Quality, Durability, Easy to use, Recipe Enhancement, Power
I have wanted a Vitamix for years and I am now the proud owner of one. I LOVE it!! I make my own nut milk about every 3-4 days. It’s so easy with this blender. I’ve already made three different soups in it. Amazing that you can put a bunch of raw vegetables, spices, & stock and 5 minutes later you have piping hot, delicious soup! I cannot say enough about my new Vitamix, I just love it!!
Pros: Texture Quality, Durability, Easy to use, Versatility, Power
We bought it because we make smoothies, dressings and sauces regularly and wanted a better consistency than we were getting after trying several other brands of blender. This blender deliver smooth results, even faith out presoaking the cashews! Definitely happy with our purchase.

My mom has had a vitamix and uses it at least several times per week, so when I decided to purchase a blender, I knew I wanted a vitamix. These machines are super powerful, and make the smoothest homemade smoothies and purees of any other blenders I have used in the past. I love using it to make my own sunflower seed butter and coconut butter, which are way cheaper than buying them at the store. (Coconut butter is like a nut butter, but made from the coconut flesh. It's not supposed to resemble dairy butter.) When you have a lot of food allergies like I do, it's very convenient to be able to make your own allergy-friendly foods from scratch in this machine. I like to blend frozen fruit with a little full-fat coconut milk and sweetener, and it makes a lovely dairy-free soft serve ice cream! Love my vitamix and will continue to use it frequently.
Pros: Texture Quality, Easy to use, Versatility, Power
Like this model so well that after I sold mine in California and moved to Florida - I decided I needed one and ordered the same one - even if more expensive than others. Absorbs LOVE it!!
