My wife and I have had one for years and our daughter grew up using it. As she was planning her move to Denver, she asked if she could have our old one. "You could buy a new one" she said. I did and as a surprise, I placed this new one in her apartment with all the boxes so she would find it as she was unpacking. Brought her to tears. She uses it daily mostly for smoothies.

This is the best appliance I own! I may not ever buy another juicer or food processor ever again. Watch the instructional DVD and pay attention to the different blending techniques. I use my Vitamix to masticate fruits and vegetables for juicing with the help of Vitamix's high quality nut-milk bags. Note: the nut bags are also worth the price. I make different smoothies daily (nothing goes to waste in my fridge anymore) and pesto's of all kinds e.g., I roasted red cabbage sprinkled with smoked paprika and applewood smoked salt and and then blended it in the Vitamix with nutritional yeast and garlic---it was fantastic. I'm going to make an almond milk, cashew, banana, date, peanut butter shake right now!

By far the very best blender I have ever had! I have wanted one for years. I've just had this one a few months. I haven't even come close to making all the things I want with it. But I have made smoothies, salsa, pesto to name a few things. I haven't watched the video yet and I want to know how it would do shredding cheese but haven't had the nerve to try. I feel like it would wad up on the bottom and I could never get it out. LOVE this blender.
