Bought mine in 2011, no issues or problems. They are pricey, but if you commit to making a vitamix be a daily investment...meaning not storing it in the cabinet but leaving it out on the countertop as a proud trophy of health, then it will serve you well. I make green drinks of green veggies and blueberries, and it does it again and again with ease. Think of the vitamix as an investment to your health, then keep it out so you make sure to use it everyday. The vitamix with a george foreman combo is lethal for college students who want to stay healthy with a short window time for cooking.

I would give it 4.5 stars. It is super powerful. A little frightening how powerful it is compared to the junk blenders we've used in the past. The only reason it is not 5 stars is that it isn't dishwasher safe. That's fine but I made the mistake of using a typical sponge with an abrasive side to clean some bits that didn't get cleaned by the recommended process. I ended up scratching up the inside of the container. It made it a bit cloudy to look through. I wish the instructions would have cautioned against the use of abrasives for cleaning. Other than that, we are very happy with the unit. I would recommend this unit, just be careful cleaning it.

I bought this 5200 classic vitamix in 2015 and its still going strong with literally no issues. I love making nicecreams, smoothies, sauces, vegan mac and cheese, and everything between.

Power to make so many things. I love how it blends my smoothies, healthy ice cream and even chops my garlic. I've had this machine for over 8 years and still has the same power as day one.

I brought the equivalent of this Vitamin, it was called the Super 5000 back then. I bought it over twenty years ago and I have never had a single problem with it. There's a skip nowadays at one speed but I'm still using the same pitchers and blades. I came on here to look around because I friend stopped by who saw me using it and has gone through multiple other brands and couldn't believe how old mine was. I may invest in a new pitcher one of these days for sharper blades but best money I ever spent. Anyway....gotta go make my morning smoothie.

5200 Still going years later

I have had a Vitamix 5200 for at least 10 years. I was considering purchasing a new machine as I want want one that will work with the food processor adaptor. After a lot of research and my 5200 still working great, I'm thinking (for now) I will hold off and keep using what I have. Maybe I can give this to my daughter and it will give me the excuse to buy the new Ascent!

30 Years of Great Smoothies

I bought my Vitamix somewhere in the neighborhood of 30 years ago. I use it for smoothies almost every morning. Peach smoothies are a favorite, but I also like pinapple orange, pineapple mango orange, and strawberry or strawberry razzberry blueberry. I also use it to make really good crab chowder. I cook the crab chowder ingredients on the stove, then transfer it to the Vitamix to make it a smooth soup. I then add chuck crab meat and cilantro garnish.

My kitchen super star!

My Vitamix Super 5200 model vm0103 is still a star at almost 15 years old. Always reliable. Never any broken parts. I've used it mainly for smoothies and sauces but have also made soups. It is amazing. I love to drink my breakfast so every morning I have a smoothie. A breeze to clean. The 64 oz container that I use is still in great shape after all these years.
