I was so excited about this highly recommended model, but the blade is already acting funny after only a month. I follow the instructions carefully about turning up the speed, then going to high, etc. so I’m confident it isn’t user error. Doesn’t feel worth hundreds of dollars. :-(.

This was supposed to last a lifetime, but it is making loud machine noises after only a few years. The only thing I ever blend is drinks, so there is no reason for it to be going bad now. I also hate that the container is plastic. It looks all scratched and ugly, and I'm sure there are microplastics in my food. I've stopped using it. I don't know why VitaMix does not sell a glass pitcher for their blender. This was awfully expensive for it to be breaking down already and for it to have plastic.

I waited so long to finally get a Vitamix! I've wanted one for years, hoped having it on our wedding registry would bring it to my life more quickly... no amount of information would convince my mom that it wasn't "just a blender." My in-laws gave it to us this year for Christmas & literally when we unwrapped the package- I hesitated, and asked if it were just the box used to wrap a different gift, before I let myself get super excited. BEST GIFT EVER. We've been using it for 3 months now & I just couldn't imagine our kitchen without it. We've juiced for about 6 years, and it is awesome to finally be able to do (quality) smoothies to change up our routine. I used to use an immersion blender for soups, and the Vitamix really creates a smoother blended soup consistency. We also use it to blend mixes for homemade popsicles, make our own nut milks, non-dairy 'cheese' sauces, dressings and pancake batter. I love finding new uses for it and am very happy to finally have it be part of my kitchen arsenal!
Pros: Healthy lifestyle, High quality, Easy to clean, Easy to use, Durable, Blend quality
I bought my Vitamix about 2 months ago and I love it. My daughter’s tube feeding had never been easier, but with Vitamix blender I know I’d get a smooth consistency. I love the higher jar compare to the smaller one because I can make more batch. However, the only down side is the noise it makes is so much louder than the one my brother has. I use to borrow his prior to buying my own. Every time I raise the power to 7-10, it would sound like the machine is going to break or explode; compared to my brother’s Vitamix blender, his is very smooth in sounding. But overall, I love my Vitamix blender. I will never go back to other blender. Thanks for making my daughter’s tube feeding journey easier.

About a decade ago, our family got a Vitamix 5200 Standard Blender (in white) as a gift. Hundreds of soups, smoothies, etc later, it works just as well as day one! As a graduation gift, I was allowed to choose any blender I wanted for my new apartment.
A thing about me: I'm very very particular about appliances, usually accumulating knowledge over years of observing other peoples experiences, whilst also doing days of research before buying any appliance. I can tell you right off the bat from first hand experience that you should only ever consider Vitamix, Blendtec, or Waring (for those that like the "classic" look) blenders. Yes these blenders are more expensive, but they will cost you less in the long run, because they will last the rest of your life. All three of these manufactures make their blenders in the USA.
So which blender did I choose? The Vitamix 5200 Standard in white (I really like the white as it gives it that "classic" look)! Why, when there are other more expensive models of Vitamix blenders, such as the Professional 750? My reasoning is this: the 5200 Standard is SIMPLE and RELIABLE. It does not have unnecessary programmed presets and other bells and whistles that can break or decrease the lifespan of my blender. Also, the 5200's taller jar blends smaller quantities far better than the shorter/wider jar that comes with other Vitamix models. The Vitamix 5200 standard is the simplest, most functional, most reliable blender period. It is pure perfection which cannot be improved upon, regardless of the fact Vitamix offers more expensive models.
I will end on this: even if you have unlimited money to spend, go with the Vitamix 5200 Standard, and I would highly recommend getting it in white. DO NOT buy any of their digital/programable blenders. It's a blender; all it needs is an on/off switch and a simple potentiometer to modulate the current fed into the motor. The digital trash does not enhance your experience, it only makes the blender more complicated to operate and less reliable. Seriously what's next, a blender that connects to the internet and has a digital clock that is perpetually set to the wrong time?
Get the best blender. Get the Vitamix 5200 Standard.

I’ve tested the 5200 against the a3500 and chose the 5200 because it ultimately provided the smoothest results in less time when it comes to smoothies and other creations.I think it has more to do with the tall container than the motor power, but found the 5200 motor to be more superior than the a3500. The noise factor was loud across the board and I found it can be mitigated by adding an aftermarket pad to the base of the vitamix. Takes a bit to break in, but it’s the most natural of blenders to use since it’s functions are simple. The motor operates more smoothly than other vita-mix products and provides a wider range of power. The 5200 also looks better and provides the gruff factor over prettier looking vitamix machines.
Never had any problems - make 64 ozs twice a day -- we both love it - I have lost 18 lbs and wife 5 -- it is best investment ever made
