I've had this for a few months now and there is no doubt in my mind that it won't last for decade or maybe longer. It was for sure made to last. I took the advice of many raw-foodist and they didn't steer me wrong. I wouldn't purchase any other blender after experiencing this high of a performance. Theres a reason it's so expensive.. it's worth it. If you can afford it, get it and you will not be unhappy. NOTE: I WAS worried about cleaning the blender since the bottom blade isn't easily removable like the Ninja, which was my old blender, but It's *easier* to clear than the ninja. I didn't believe it would work at first, but the Vitamix dvd that came along with my purchase said to blend soapy water on high for about a minute or so and then just rinse and wipe clean. So yes, it's very easy to clean. Just get a long neck 'bottle' brush to scrub the bottom for stickier stuff like peanuts, sauce etc. Still 2 thumbs up!!

I owned another juicer for many years, and I have to say, I was satisfied with it. However, the clean up was more than I really had time for. When I decided to cross over to the Vitamix, it was JUST what I needed in terms of clean up AND quality of juice!
Pros: Healthy lifestyle, Good recipes, Time-saver, Easy to store, High quality, Long lasting, Convenient, Easy to use, Blend quality
