I live my Vitamix!! The only thing I would have done differently was to Miya the wider one. I have the 5200 and it hard to get stuff out of the bottom.

I had my Vitamix 5000 for nearly 20 years and was very sorry when I killed it by turning it on with a spoon inside. I tried to replace it with a blender in order to save money, but that did not work out.
The new 5200 works as well at smoothies, chutneys, soups, etc. and is still very easy to clean. However, it seems louder than the old machine despite now sitting on a sound absorbing pad. Also, the lid is much harder to remove because the side flanges are slightly shorter than the 5000, and the center insert to the lid rattles because it does not fit snugly. Fortunately, the 5000 lid fits the 5200.

I bought my 5200 over seven years ago and it was one of the best kitchen appliance purchases I've ever made....so much so that I bought another 5200 just recently for my daughter who graduated from college. She likes to make things from scratch and I knew this would be the perfect gift! These machines are real workhorses. I use mine about 2-4 times/day making smoothies, sauces, dressings, desserts, soups, etc! I highly recommend!!

I've had my vitamix for a few months now. Bought after my family switched to vegan food and needed a good form if taking in nutrients. We had a Ninja but it didn't grind up the ingredients that well. The Vitamix leaves the smoothie smooth.
