My wife and I have had one for years and our daughter grew up using it. As she was planning her move to Denver, she asked if she could have our old one. "You could buy a new one" she said. My mom got an older model from 11 years ago and still uses it so she encouraged me to get one when I was shopping for a new blender. Although it's still loud, this model is a lot quieter than the model my mom has. I have been using it to make smoothies since I got it.
