Had this for about 2 months and its a monster. Very powerful. I was sick of other cheaper blenders not fully blending my shakes(which is mainly what I use this for) and this does the job perfectly. Throw pretty much anything in there and it will blend it smooth. Very loud which was expected. Will eventually start making soups and baby food and ice cream.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love it!! I use it every day since I had received it as a Birthday gift from my husband several months ago. I make green, fruit, & kefir smoothies. Some days I make two or three different types of smoothies. Also made soups, sesame tahini {ingredient in Hummus}, and Almond butter. I'm looking forward to making many other things to enhance my familys health and food we eat. I feel good about the increased nutritional availability and digestibility of foods I make in it. 5200 is well thought out as far as how it works & materials used, such as the carafe being light weight food safe plastic. It's not heavy, cumbersome and more likely to break as glass. In the past I had a different brand blender which had a heavy glass carafe I found the glass to be more cumbersome and awkward to use. The plastic Vitamix carafe is easier to handle and clean. The pour spout is well shaped foods pour well and go right into whatever container I am pouring into, in my case it's mostly Ball Mason Jars. I also like the simplicity of this machine, and the fact that it's not digital. I did major studying before I chose 5200. I had read this was a favorite model of Americas test kitchen {TV show}. And I noticed one of my favorite TV chefs, Rick Bayless has this model I spotted the 5200 in his Chicago kitchen while watching his show. Additionally, I read countless reviews until my eyes burned. All my research seems to have paid off because I love my 5200.
Pros: Texture Quality, Durability, Easy to use, Versatility, Recipe Enhancement, Product features, Power
We've had our 5200 for over 5 years now and have given it quite the work out. We do green smoothies every day and I use it for tons of other things too. It is a rare day the vitamix isn't turned on at least once. I love this model and couldn't be happier. I just hoped on to look at getting a second one for our second home. Can't recommend this enough. PS there is a great Facebook group with recipes too if that is your cup of tea.
Pros: Speed of Service, Texture Quality, Versatility, Power
Third 5200, this motor hesitates before getting up to speed - an intentional feature to ease up to full power, or a defect? Reason I'm leaning towards the later is one time it hummed without turning like stuck, then finally turned when I dialed it up. It certainly is giving me pause. The other issue is that when the blade initially turns at low speeds, there is a clicking noise, as if the bearings had not been packed. Hello, we'd like to further assist you. Please call 1-800-848-2649 when you are with your machine.
This blender is seriously incredible. I made a smoothie with a lot of blackberries and it even made the seeds disappear. The variability of speeds makes so you won't end up with the problem of air bubbles around the blade, which is what happens when the blade is too fast for thicker substances. The jug handles heat well so you can blend soups.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have owned this model for over 5 or 6 years now and I wouldn't/couldn't live without one! I use this daily, sometimes multiple times a day. There is nothing this cannot do and it is a must have in anyone's kitchen!
