I use my vitamix every day for smoothies. I prefer the simple, no nonsense controls on the 5200 model because I really don’t need all the extra bells and whistles of the fancier ones. So far, I have been extremely pleased with my purchase. It’s proven to be worth every penny. I’ve made some soups, and they’ve turned out great also.

I thought that this would be the solution to my ninja problems, but it's not much better. rocks all over the counter, smokes, stinks, and screetches. Maybe its all the power. It does get the job done, but after a lot of hard work.

It is important to remember that all full-size Vitamix blenders are equipped with either a 2 or 2.2 horsepower motor, which moves the blades in the container at a high speed in order to pulverize the ingredients completely. On occasion during blending, especially with thicker mixtures like hummus, frozen desserts and nut butters, you may experience some excess movement/vibration from the motor base on your countertop. This is a result of the machine trying to move the blades through such a dense recipe at the same high speeds.
When this happens, the best thing to do is to first make sure you have your blender on the highest speed setting featured on that unit. Next, place your hand firmly on the lid of your container to steady it while you use your tamper to work the ingredients through the blades. This will help to create an easier flow of the ingredients in the container, which will also help to lessen the vibration. Please keep in mind that certain ingredients and recipes are thick or denser in nature, and some movement while blending is normal.

I have used a Vitamix for the past 15 years. Just recently I had to get a new one because the one I shared with my sister went with HER! lol SO, I excitedly purchased a new one and am so glad I did. Many people suggested other types of blender machines but the Vitamix is so much more than a blender!

We have had our Vitamix for over a month and have found it great. We have been through several blenders in the past and finally invested. We find it works great for milkshakes and Abuelita hot chocolate. It is definitely more powerful and we are appreciating that.
I worry a little that we (especially my teens) will forget that it must first be started in variable mode and somehow do damage, but otherwise it is a definite step-change in blender performance for us.

I have gone through several blenders and decided to really look at customer reviews. Vitamix was by far the recommended blender by professional reviewers, friends, and on-line users. I have used it every single day with the easy recipe book, and my husband and I can't believe we haven't gotten one before. I've gotten so comfortable with it, that I've experimented with some of my own blends for smoothies. The best part of the Vitamix, is that it has the power to create your recipe quickly and easily.
