Good performance, horrible restring process

While it's running, the unit does a good job of powering through common weed and grasss chores. However, once you run out of line, you have to remove the spool from the bump mechanism and head and they only provide a fully filled replacement spool. It's not as simple as most of the other trimmers out there, which allow you to respool while the cartridge is still attached. This one is borderline infuriating. Hopefully Greenworks will put this dinosaur out to pasture and get with the times. String changes or adds shouldn't require more than 5 seconds, no aligning and holding stuff together like a contortionist.

We have a variety of string trimmer heads, all newer models come with our Load n' Go head which does not have to be removed for rewinding. Unfortunately, we do regret to inform you that older models cannot be updated to this style of the head though. Superior to my old gas trimmer in every way. No more pulling the cord a dozen time to have it fire up, no fluid leaks. Push the button down and you’re good to go. Cuts everything down too. Went through very thick weeks on 1/3 of an acre with no effort. Should have switched to electric a long time ago.

As a general rule, when cutting tall grass with a string trimmer, cut from the top down, removing no more than 5 inches in each pass to prevent wrapping and overheating.
