I've had this trimmer for a few months now, and i'm very impressed by how much power it has as well as great runtime. It has lasted well over an hour a few times now with power to spare. Charge time is about an hour, sometimes less. Cutting is very strong, and i've never had to use the higher output setting on it. I do recommend getting the shoulder strap like I did. The unit is a bit heavy. I would compare the electric to a gas powered trimmer as far as weight goes. Pretty similar. Definitely a great residential trimmer. I won't recommend this to a commercial user. You would have to by several batteries to be on standby for all day use.
When I purchased a reconditioned lawn mower, I was worried that it work properly. But I’m pleasantly surprise it has the power and pulling drive to move thru my small front and rear yard. The overall appearance is great also as the two included batteries working time. So far, I’m glad with the purchase.
Pros: Convenient, Easy to Use, Quiet, Environmentally Safe, Effective, Powerful
It won't turn on I've tried 3 batteries. I don't know what to do
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hello BAgeled. We are sorry to hear you are having trouble getting your string trimmer started. To power on the 80V trimmer, please ensure the battery is fully charged and firmly seated in the unit until it clicks into place. Then, press and hold the safety lock-out button (typically located near the handle) while simultaneously squeezing the trigger. The unit will only start when both the lock-out button and trigger are engaged at the same time. Once running, you can release the lock-out button while continuing to hold the trigger. If the unit still does not turn on after trying multiple batteries, we recommend checking that the battery contacts and terminals are clean and free of debris, and ensuring the battery is not in sleep mode (some batteries may require being placed on the charger briefly to reset). For additional guidance, you may find it helpful to search “Greenworks 80V string trimmer how to start” on Greenworks Tools YouTube channel for a visual walkthrough of the starting process for most of our tools. If the issue continues, we encourage you to contact Greenworks success so they can further troubleshoot your unit and determine next steps. I want to love this trimmer, it's powerful and gets the job done...for the first 5 minutes then it's a nightmare. I cannot get it to line to autofeed and the bump method doesn't work either. As soon as the string gets too short I have to take the entire thing apart and respool the line. So what should take me less than 15 minutes to do is taking me over an hour.
Pros: Powerful

Thank you for your feedback. We are glad to hear the trimmer has the power you were expecting, but we understand how frustrating it can be when the line does not advance properly during use. A few things may help improve auto-feed and bump performance: first, confirm the spool is installed correctly and seated fully in the head, with the line routed cleanly through the eyelets. Check that the line is the correct diameter (.080" is typically recommended for this model) and not tangled, crossed, or wound too tightly, as this can prevent proper feeding. It can also help to remove the spool and rewind it evenly with light tension, ensuring the line follows the directional arrows on the spool. During operation, make sure to bump the head on a firm surface while running at full speed, as insufficient RPM can prevent the mechanism from advancing the line. Additionally, inspect the bump knob and spring for wear or debris that could restrict movement. For helpful visual references, we recommend checking our Greenworks YouTube channel for instructional videos and additional tips that may assist with trimmer head maintenance and line replacement. If the issue continues after these checks, our support team would be happy to assist further and help identify any potential defects or compatibility concerns. They can be reached either using the online chat function, on Greenworks Tools page, or by calling 1-888-909-6757. We appreciate your patience and your feedback.
