The trimmer itself is okay. It does what it is supposed to. My complaint is with the design of the handle. Anytime I need to readjust the handle, I need to go find a phillips screwdriver. It would have been a better design to put a knob to tighten up the handle. Also, this doesn't have variable speed while other competitors offer that feature for similar price range.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hello there,
Thank you for your review. We're glad to hear you're overall satisfied with the unit. We're sorry to hear about the inconvenience you're having of having to unscrew the auxiliary handle to move it along the shaft. This is certainly something we can share with our product development team. If there is any further issues, questions or concerns you may have, please do not hesitate to contact us at info@greenworkstools.com or by phone to 1-888-909-6757. We're here to help.
I bought this last month. Very simple to assemble. Chsrged battery and off to work I went. Very easy to use and balance. Cut great and easy to maneuver. I can add attachments if needed. Great buy.
Capable, quiet tool - battery enters on one side which makes the whole thing want to lean over and a pain to have to keep upright Annoying because the non-attachment-capable one goes directly in the center-rear and is probably a lot nicer to handle. It’s not as though there is a huge range of attachments that makes this worth it - I probably would have chosen the other one if I had known I use the 5Ah battery which probably doesn’t help but why buy another battery when one does my whole yard in both the mower and strimmer? Love the 80V range btw !
Works much better than my 4 cycle gas string trimmer ever did.

I had a 4 cycle gas string trimmer that claimed it was best on the market. It was hard to start and control. It also ate up the string line from the very first day I had it. The Greenworks trimmer out performed the other one from day one, even when the other one was new. It's easy to use, doesn't eat up the line and is environmentally friendly to boot. Wish I had purchased this earlier, I would have saved lots of frustration and a swear wordor two The Greenworks is very easy to control, doesn't eat line
Maybe the best electric trimmer built but with one fatal flaw

It's pretty well built, well balanced. However it's unusable by all but the casual ocassional use because there is a 3-4 second delay between pressing the throttle and the head spinning full speed. This is a prohibitive setup, and makes efficiency and any semblance of productivity all but impossible. If they would fix that ONE problem I would buy THREE of them. I own the 80V mower and 80V Pro Blower and love both of them.

I was always trying to get tangles untangled from my old trimmer. I needed a tool that lasted a long time on a battery charge and didn’t have string tangles. I waited for this tool most of my life. Thank you for saving this old man.[
