60v 5.0 is a poor battery

I’ve bought several pieces of Greenworks equipment, individually and combo packs. This battery died within the first year. I could not verify which piece of equipment it came with so I could provide specific model number, serial number or receipt. Very disappointed. The equipment is great and the 60v 2.0 batteries have held up fine
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Unfortunately, we are not sure of each customer's expertise with our units, so we do just need to confirm basic troubleshooting procedures before determining the proper course of action. There is truly no intent to disappoint our customers, sometimes the solution is at the end of their fingertips but can easily be overlooked. Troubleshooting can help provide immediate resolutions to customers, instead of just sending parts which may not fix the issue if it is a potential user error. We do advise our customers to hold on to a copy of their receipt for the duration of the warranty, just in case. Receipts, serial, and model numbers are required information for all warranty claims. This information is necessary to keep an accurate record of which items and model numbers are defective and is ultimately for your safety and reduces fraudulent acts. Unfortunately, it seems this information was not available at the time of your call which does not allow us to proceed with the necessary steps to resolve the issue. I have had this battery for over 2 years, use it regularly and have never had an issue with this or any other Greenworks product. I own: selfpropelled lawnmower, chainsaw, blower, line trimmer, hedge trimmer and a pole saw all 60V. I had an issue once with a blower and Greenworks quickly sent me a replacement trimmer so I would not have to drive 50 miles to a certified repair shop. I have also purchase Greenworks products for one of my sons and a self-propelled lawn mower for my 88 year old mother who mows her lawn weekly and loves it.
I would recommend Greenworks products and this 5.0 battery to anyone who wants a quality product.

Excellent Battery

I bought this battery and tool combo over 2 years ago and they still work as if brand new out of the box. Plan to upgrade my battery eventually but overall very satisfied with the 2.5 Ah battery. I have spent many hours reviewing cordless equipment and Greenworks wins against the competition. This comes from a guy that has only used gas powered equipment and Greenworks tools definitely can hold their own against them.
Pros: Convenient, Easy to Use, Quiet, Durable, Environmentally Safe
I would recommend this to a friend!

After 1 year, this battery life lasts 30-40 minutes of use in the backpack leaf blower even when used on the lower speed.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Horrible Battery Life or Malfunction

I purchased a greenworks combo package which included a lawnmower, trimmer, blower, two battery chargers, and two batteries (one 60V 2.0 and one 60V 5.0) at a great deal (approximately 1 year ago). Both batteries were well taken care of. Kept in a cool area and charged properly.
The 60V 5.0 has already malfunctioned. When placed in the charger, it will initially flash green then turn red. The battery life indicator light will display 3 of 4 bars but when in use (such as the leaf blower), it will briefly give a surge of power then shut off.
I am very disappointed in the quality of this battery and don't see how this battery alone can be priced a little more then half of the combo package I purchased.
The 60V 2.0 is still going strong but I am now weary of how much longer it can or will last.
As others have said. I don't plan on purchasing a new battery every 8 months to a year.
Deal or no deal, it's ridiculous to invest in products that you expect to last (at least 3-4 years).....but doesn't.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

battery only lasts 15 mins on regular mode

I bought the leaf blower during the summer and the battery doesn't charge anymore. Even when it did, it only lasted 15 mins.
