After one year, I can't charge the battery. I put it on the charger and the charger light doesn't come on and the battery doesn't charge. And please, I don't need to hear "put a multimeter on it". That's so great, for someone into electronics or electricity. Looking at the replacement price, this should work way longer than a year. All my other tools have lasted WAY longer. I have had some for 6+ years and am still using same batteries and chargers. Only reason I gave 2 stars is the fact that I do like the lawn mower. Not going to waste my money on this. My lawn is way too small to waste this kind of money on it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hello Jl73,
We are sorry to hear about the experience you have encountered with this battery. The overall battery life is dependent on many factors such as where they have been stored, charged, and handled. When the battery will not be in use, we suggest storing it indoors, in a cool dry area - away from direct sunlight. Leave the charger unplugged and the battery disconnected from the charger unless it needs charging. It is recommended to store the battery with a full charge, and if it is being stored for a period where no use is expected, to check on the charge every couple of months. If you notice the charge has dropped, we advise charging the battery back up to full before returning it to its safe storage place. Following these steps will ensure you receive the most of the battery life. Please know that our batteries are covered by the manufacturer's warranty as stated in the owner’s manual period from the date of purchase. Should you continue to experience a problem with the battery and charger, simply contact Greenworks Pro toll-free helpline at 1-855-345-3934. All we ask that you have access to the battery and charger so that we can complete troubleshooting with you and gather necessary unit information.
I bought this to replace a corded Edger I have had for years. The B&D worked but I got tired of having to cut, back up and cut again and fiddling with 100 feet of extension cord was a pain. I have to say that this tool is powerful and requires only one pass with no downward pressure to make a clean cut against curbs and driveway and it will edge the lawn against flower and shrubbery beds also. The battery seems to go for 30 minutes anyway and it will rapidly recharge in less than 15 minutes. This tool is also heavily built and sturdy but that is also its drawback. It weighs a ton and at 6’ 2” and 195 lbs it will tire me out pretty quickly. This is due to its sheer weight and poor balance point as well as the handle being limited in adjustment such that I can’t get it high enough to balance the tool well. They need to add another 12 inches of handle to this to make it much easier to use if you are 6 feet or taller.
I bought this battery about a month ago as a backup to my 60V 4.0 AH battery, since it takes about 1.5 battery charged to mow my lawn. I've been pleasantly surprised at how much lawn I can mow on one charge and I only need my other battery for about 10 minutes to finish the job. Thinking about purchasing another 5.0 AH battery to replace the 4.0 AH. one.
This my second mowing season with my Greenworks mower. Mine uses two 60V 4.0 A batteries so when one runs down the other kicks in. Last year I was able to mow my entire 1/3 acre backyard with the two batteries in one hour. This year the batteries do not last as long, 40 minutes and I have to recharge them. Disappointed.
