Poor battery life!

I bought the Greenworks 21” self propelled and like the way it works but like many others the battery life is poor and cannot find any to purchase a second battery. Can you use a 60 volt 4aH or 2aH as a second battery?

Sorry to hear you are experiencing difficulties finding a replacement battery. You can use any GreenWorks 60v battery in this unit. Please note it is a 2.5Ah battery and will provide roughly 1/2 the run time of a 5.0Ah.

My thoughts after 1 year of use

I have two batteries and two chargers. Just recently, they both started making this really high-pitched whine when charging. It doesn't happen every time however. Other than that, after one year of use, they still work. It does get very hot when charging. Adding a small fan would be helpful.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I bought this a month ago and i am really disappointed with this tool
1 - very heavy
2- blade is thinned after single use
3 - Unique blade did not find anywhere else
4 - Blade length too short

I bought the lawnmower 2 months ago and still waiting on this battery. Maybe they dont make it anymore???? No idea but I am selling the lawnmower so I can get a different one that has lots and lots of batteries in stock. STAY AWAY

I wish I had seen these reviews last year. The batterys are bad and only get worse. I bought a trimmer and a mower to get an two batterys but I can barely get 25 minutes from the two of them. Now I find I can't even buy a replacement battery. I wish I had stuck with gas and oil. I feel cheated.

Here are some of the tips that would enhance the run time:
1. Set the mower to the highest cutting height (or 1/3 of the length of grass); mow no more than 1/3 at a time.
2. Mow when grass is dry.
3. For the best results keep the lawn under 4" in length and walk at a steady pace to allow the blades to cut efficiently.
The battery is expected to be in stock around the end of May. Due to the current pandemic COVID-19 this date may be delayed. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Great Mower Horrible Battery life

60 V 5 amp Mower cuts great I was told battery would last about 45 min It was closer to 15 min then mower stopped. Has a place for second battery, but they cannot be found. called customer service, wait time is longer than battery life hung up after 30 min. Frustrating!!!

The run-time of a battery would depend on the load acting on the unit while in use (speed, terrain, unit height, grass height, and density). Please be aware that the more power being used from the lawn mower (i.e. lawn mower speed, terrain, grass height, density, etc.), the faster the battery charge will drain. Here are a few other tips to help get the most out of the battery run time and achieve a cleaner cut: 1) Set the mower to the highest cutting height (or 1/3 of the length of grass), mow no more than 1/3 of the total length at a time. 2) Mow in the morning or late afternoon to reduce the heat stress on newly cut grass and ensure that grass is dry. 3) Alternate mowing patterns each time you mow. As grass develops a grain based on your cutting direction it will lean towards the direction of your mowing path. Changing the pattern allows better vertical growth and helps to keep the cut neater. For best results keep the grass under 4" in length and walk at a slow but steady pace to allow the blades to cut efficiently.
