The X-Range/Bluetooth battery is the one you want

I own six Greenworks 60V X-Range batteries: three are 2.5AH, three are 5.0AH. I also own one 2.5 and one 5.0 that are NOT X-Range. The X-Ranges last a bit longer per charge; maybe 5 percent longer under a light load, 10 percent longer under a heavy load. They're more durable, with a higher IPX rating against dust, moisture, and vibration. I've paired four with my Greenworks app; the other two, I couldn't get to pair. I recommend going with the X-Range for the 2.5AH size, in particular. When used in my 610 CFM blower, my non-X-Range 2.5 battery cuts out as soon as I press the Turbo button. My X-Range 2.5s don't cut. I've even used my X-Range 2.5 in my 21-inch Gen 2 mower with the Turbo button or self-propelled transmission engaged, though not with both engaged at the same time.
The 2.5AH cells can handle 25 amps. If you need your batteries in a tool that draws a lot of power--say, in a chainsaw, an edger, or a cultivator--think twice before buying a 3.0AH or 6.0AH battery. Those batteries use 3.0AH cells, which pass fewer amps (15, I believe) before cutting out. If my numbers are correct, here's how many watts each battery can deliver:
0810 watts (54V x 15A) 3.0AH battery
1350 watts (54V x 25A) 2.5AH X-Range battery
1620 watts (54V x 30A) 6.0AH battery
2700 watts (54V x 50A) 5.0AH X-Range battery
And the 3.0AH-celled batteries, of course, lack the IPX5 rating of the X-Range batteries.
On one of my X-Range 2.5s, the indicator LEDs no longer light up. Even so, the indicator bars on the tool light up when I use the "bad" battery.
I'm very happy with my X-Range batteries and the now-discontinued X-Range tools. They're the main reason I went with Greenworks 60V instead of 40V or 80V.
Pros: Durable, Powerful

Battery does not last compared to original battery

Received this blue tooth 5.0 ah battery as a replacement for the normal non blue tooth 5.0 battery. Old battery I could mow my yard, edge, weed eat and blow and have 2 bars left, Very small mobile home yard,
New battery, fully charged, I mowed half of one side and it was down to 2 bars, did everything else and when done had 1 bar left.
Not liking the blue tooth battery so far, it isn't anything like the original battery I had, Will contact support to see what they say.
Yes, battery is charged and stored in the house in the AC since they suggested I should do this when they sent the replacement.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hello hardbody

Thank you for the review on this battery! The rate of degradation depends on how well the battery is maintained. There are different variables to consider giving an adequate answer. Greenworks takes as much pride in our battery and charger. The 60V platform batteries have been tested over 1000 charges. While we only work with the highest quality products, nothing is always perfect, but not to worry Greenworks lithium-ion batteries are offered with a 4 year (homeowner) limited warranty. Please contact Greenworks directly through chatbot on www.greenworkstools.com that will direct you to a live agent or call us at Greenworks toll-free helpline at 1-888-909-6757 for a proper evaluation.

We received our new 5Ah bluetooth battery a few months ago and love it. I am able to cut much longer than with my 2.5. I travel to my property so it is much more economically effective.
Pros: Convenient, Cost-Saver, Easy to Use, Durable, Environmentally Safe, Effective, Powerful

Versatile size, better than 5.0Ah

I bought both the 2 and 5 Ah to go with my new mower, blower, and weed wacker in 2019. The 2Ah is still going strong, but the 5Ah went bad in 2020. I didn’t realize there was a 4 year warranty, so I bought the 6Ah to replace it and am very happy with it. Looking at other reviews, glad to know I wasn’t the only one with a faulty 5Ah.
Pros: Convenient, Easy to Use, Environmentally Safe, Effective, Powerful

Long lasting

I just bought a second one so I have two now for my 60v 20” saw. One battery can roughly cut down, limb, and buck up a 13” diameter beach tree. They take about 50 minutes to charge, the charger seems to keep the fan on a while after it says the battery is done charging for some reason though. I haven’t tried any of the smaller batteries but I would highly recommend the 8ah.
Pros: Powerful

Happy to say

I purchased my green works lawnmower with 260 V batteries in 2020. Still using those I bought a 60 V Weedwhacker and a 60 V leaf blower which I use almost constantly. It’s useful all year round!
The lawnmower is my oldest product. One of the batteries is incredibly heavy and the other one is not my Weedwhacker and leaf blower. Both came with a battery and I’m happy to say all four are still in great use! I’m just thinking of buying an extra which is what I’m doing here and I wanted to make sure that I left a great review because I’m very happy with the products I have a 2.7 acre lawn and I mow about half of it and it takes me a few days to get it done but it’s so much easier to use than gas!
I would recommend this to a friend!

3 months is all the life it had

Greenworks blocked me from commenting on their posts.
I love the mower, but the batteries are crap. I have the 21 inch brushless mower 60 volts. My brand new battery lasted for 1.5 hrs of mowing in June 2022, by August 2022 it took hours to fully charge and only lasted 20 minutes.
So all I have said is buy twice the chargers and 3 times the batteries. Until the company starts making better quality batteries to match their mowers
They blocked me, so I guess that means they have no plans of getting higher quality batteries
Pros: Easy to Use

Hello Dd28001,

We are sorry to hear about the experience you have encountered with this battery and that you felt your review was rejected! We do not have information to assist you with the review issue you are experiencing. We are sorry this is not the response you were looking for. Regardless, if there is an issue with your battery we are always happy to assist with a warranty claim within the warranty period.

The overall battery life is dependent on many factors such as where they have been stored, charged, and handled. When the battery will not be in use, we suggest storing it indoors, in a cool dry area - away from direct sunlight. Leave the charger unplugged and the battery disconnected from the charger unless it needs charging. It is recommended to store the battery with a full charge, and if it is being stored for a period where no use is expected, to check on the charge every couple of months. If you notice the charge has dropped, we advise charging the battery back up to full before returning it to its safe storage place. Following these steps will ensure you receive the most of the battery life.

Greenworks batteries are covered by the manufacturer's warranty as stated in the owner’s manual period from the date of purchase. Should you continue to experience a problem with the battery, please contact Contact Greenworks Pro toll-free helpline at 1-855-345-3934. All we ask that you have access to the battery and charger so that we can complete troubleshooting with you and gather necessary unit information.
