I have been using Otterbox cases for my phones ever since they starting making then and have never broken a phone. I have tried some of those themed hard plastic cases and seem to drop my phone and break it. nothing but an Otterbox on my phones from now on.
Can always count on Otter box to deliver great quality products. I have used many cases throughout my phones. Hands down they destroy the competition. This case fits the new Note 8 amazing. No issues. The s-pen has a cutout area that makes it easy to access. The screen even though no plastic case to protect it, the curved screen is still protected by the natural shape that the case wraps around the display. So if you dropped case the sides of case would take the blunt of the fall not the middle or glass portion. Very happy with the case and will only use Otter box for my phones. Thanks Otter Box
The case itself is very slick and very well made. The only problems I'm having is the flaps covering the charging port and the headphone jack. They are almost impossible to get open unless you have Krueger nails. The other problem is the case clip. Once it's open and clicks into place for the "stand mode", You almost have to break it to get it to close.
Have had mine for a week - I work in tight areas and always have it on belt clip. Glad to see that the clip is beefier than my original note 4 defender case. There is only one thing that is a bit of an issue for me (not at fault of otterbox), due to the case being narrower because of screen design, the latch isn't quite as big, and occasionally after getting a good jarring the phone likes to come unlatched from the case a little easier than my note 4. I have a 3 inch o-ring that sits between volume and Bixby key that keeps it in the holder if it does come unlatched, but flexible enough I can still fold it out a little to see a call/check time.
Bought this case even before my note 8 had arrived, as I've had previous otter box defenders on my phones i knew that's what I needed to keep my phone from meeting it's demise at my high paced construction career.
The belt clip is lacking and i no longer trust it to secure my phone during any physical activity, i just keep it on to cover the screen from direct impact.
The main issue with the belt clip is the phone is not tightly secure in it, it moves back and forth in the holster 3 to 4 mm allowing it to eventually stop the mechanical grip from holding the phone and letting it fall onto the floor, where the highly protective case comes in and saves the day.
Id rather not worry about my phone randomly dropping from my hip so the belt clip is not going to be used but otherwise good protection and survived two almost 3 foot drops, which were caused by the belt clip.
I b ought this a week ago, but the phone come off the belt holder too easy, looks like the holder is too wide for the phone
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hey Carlos!
Uh oh, a belt clip holster that doesn't hold your phone tightly? That's definitely not what we like to see, and we apologize that the holster and the case don't seem to be a perfect match! This is strange, especially since we engineer the product specifically to hold the phone securely at your side for on-the-go protection! We would recommend giving our handy support team a call at 1-855-688-7269, and they'll fix you up with a warranty replacement!
Every time I buy a new phone the first thing I do is buy a new Otterbox defender case. Durable and easy to hold on to the phone, not to mention a great belt clip.
