I am a maintenance mechanic and work in industrial environment. In the past the Defender cases I have purchased have worked extremely well in protecting my previous phones. I am dissatisfied with the Defender Note 8 case as it does not have any form of screen protection and the phone does not stay securley clipped in the belt holster.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We apologize about any disappointment about the lack of screen protector, and we understand that this makes some feel a little more vulnerable. We were concerned that our customers would have difficulty using the curved edges of the infinity display with a built-in screen protector, so in order to forego any of these frustrations, we decided to not include one. Rest assured, our cases are just as protective as ever! Additionally, we do carry the Alpha Glass screen protector as an option for extra security, which will pair perfectly with your Defender.
In terms of the best clip holster, it is bizarre that it won't hold your phone securely at your side. We definitely don't want you worrying that your phone is going to fall, especially while you're doing maintenance! Feel free to call our helpful Otters at 1-855-688-7269, and they'll be happy to send a warranty replacement that should work better for you!

I hate that the defender doesn't come with a screen protector for the note 8! Bought a glass screen protector but the case keeps lifting the glass so now I have a useless case. I've had otter box cases for years, and I've never been so disappointed!

This is the 3rd otter box defender series case I've purchased. They were great on my last 2 phones. This case for Samsung note 8 is poor as the clip has broken only after a month. Additionally there is no extra screen protector. I do understand that they have made great advancements in the glass used, but I work in construction and need that additional barrier. Plus i did buy the defender series which is suppose to be the toughest and most protective. Coworker showed me his case that had the additional screen protector and it appears better than the otter box defender series case to included the same case wrapping materials and technics. Conclusion, I've very disappointed and not sure I will buy otter box again. I've been looking for a new case and will most likely buy the one my coworker is using.

Had this case for 2 weeks now. Missing having the screen protector like the s7 edge and when clipping the phone to the holster the phone must face outwards that's the only way to secure the phone I'm place.

I have come to know Other Box to be one of the best cases I've ever had. The idea of it no longer comes with a screen protector kind of puts it on par with other cases. I used to love the fact that it came with a screen protector to help me sure no scratches on the device. Now that it does not come with a screen protector I think the price should drop a little. Feel like Otterbox is slipping.

Clicks in please but you can still press it down feels spongy. Same with holster you can press it past the locking notch. No screen saver. Last good case was for the note 3. Note 4 screen protector didn't for right.
